Short rifle

I've read some recent threads about truck guns, or short barrel rifles etc.. and it got me thinking. I want a rifle with a 16" barrel (it'll be suppressed) that has the following requirements.
Point blank range to 250yds
Factory ammo available
Larger than 22cal

308 WIN

6 Creedmoor

6.5 grendel

My truck gun 7-08 16 1/2" barrel

Mine was put together on the cheap - but it truly is a truck gun and never leaves its spot under the back seat. So if it was ever stolen I wouldnt be too heart broken. But shoots cheap factory ammo sub moa.

You can't go wrong with a 308

Would anyone consider a 6.8spc?

I love the 6.8 SPC II so long as you hand load. Factory ammo is pretty anemic. It's been deadly for me on coyotes and hogs.

7mm-08 with a 120 or 130 bullet

I'm thinking about cutting my current truck gun to 16". It's a Rem. 700 SPS, 243 Win.

Remington model 7 in 308. 16.5 in threaded from the factory for $5-600

7mm-08 they shoot good in a short barrel out to 250yds..walk in the park.
