7mm sherman max

I did start a 338 Sherman Max thread, but I'll mention it here as well
Just because this cartridge is touted as a longer medium action type case, that is only necessary if you plan to run the high b.c. bullets like the 250 Berger.
Most, if not all, the Spitzer styles like a 250 Accubond, would fit nicely in most short actions. This would make a great bear/elk rifle that would still be effective to 700-800 yards with an estimated coal of around 2.960 to the lands.
This baby would run a 200 grain Accubond at 3200'

Hi Rich, how would your Max work necked to 8mm running the 220 gr Sierra? I would run it out to max out the intermediate length Mauser. That magazine length is 3.232". My biggest concern is will that SAUM case fit the magazine or is it too fat?

Anyone having issues with feeding with controlled feed bolts?

It should work great performance wise. You would have to have a smith determine if the width would work.

I have a 6.5SS in a light hunting rifle. It's very accurate and easy to load for. Norma Brass has been good and lasts awhile but adg is coming out with brass soon. I send my brass to Rich and for a dollar a case it comes back necked turned sized to 6.5 and has a false shoulder so it's ready to fire form. I can seat bullets way out there and it still fits in the mag. The 7 SS should be a great round for 1000 yard BR.

ADG brass has been out now for about 6 months. This June, there will be fire formed 40 degree SS brass

I'm curious Rich, how does the case capacity between your SE Max and the same caliber WSM compare? If I have a long enough magazine to seat the bullets out would I be better off just using a wsm case since I would be leaving room on the table so to speak my not being able to utilize all that's available in my mag? Your .02 please.

It has a little bit less capacity than the WSM but far better design and brass. I have no doubt that it will equal, or beat a wsm!!
