Trigger upgrade for hunting?

Timney Calvin Elite in place of the recalled Remington trigger made me a believer.
Having used Jewel Triggers in the past, (now hard to get most days) the Calvin Elite series has become my go to for all of my long guns both hunt and paper punch rifles.

Title sort of says it but what triggers do you all run for a hunting rifle? My current rifle is coming with the factory X-Mark trigger from Remington but from what I've read about them it sounds like I'll want to upgrade it. So while I wait for my barrel and receiver to show up I figured I'd find a trigger to install. The rifle is being built off a brand new left handed Remington 700 receiver.
I've a couple of old school REM triggers, and have adjusted them down to just a hare over 2#, and ~2.5#. My 'smith said that was too light until he tried to get them to let off when they should not. He left them alone.... They were really awesome triggers, and not too difficult to adjust. You just have to know the failure drill. I've got a jewel ~1 or 2 oz trigger that was just too light, but I've other springs for it, never tried them, but it is an awesome trigger. I've another common aftermarket, would have to look in the box. So, I've bought two aftermarket triggers and still have the factory units installed? But these are from the last millennium.

I built a Rem 700 .270 for whitetail last year and installed a Timney thin. Highly recommend this in the 700 platform. And yes I got my whitetail!

Well I'll just join in, even the OP has already decided. I shoot both game and target, and have replaced stock triggers with Timneys for decades. Really, like 6 decades. Then I discovered Jewells, and put them on all my bench rifles and a few hunting rifles. I think it's possible they're susceptible to problems with dust, but that has not been problem for me yet. And recently I discovered Bix n Andy. Wow! The idea of using steel balls instead of levers is brilliant. I would put a Bix on any future bench guns, but I don't think I'll be building any more rifles in this life time.

Bottom line: Jewell for hunting, Bix for bench rest.

For the Rem 700, Rifle basix, or the timney both very easy to install, and easy adjustment if you like a little lighter trigger.

I have installed 3 Geissele's in rifles, and, after excellent optics, I think are the biggest contributor to improved accuracy. I love them. And there are plenty of You Tube videos to explain the subtleties of installation.

Given compatibility with the particular action, I use Jewel, Timney, and Huber Concepts, the latter being my favorite. While the Triggertech has a nice break, and looks to be well sealed, but I personally desire sufficient over/travel which in the Triggertech feels non-existent.
