McMillan G30 Extra LA (338)

MCMILLAN INFO ONLY PLEASE. I don't want to hear about other options. Really just want to know about McMillan. Sorry, but there just isn't info on them like the other companies.



So, Stiller is a long way out on actions, BAT even further, something about steel delivery.

McMillan has one on hold ready to ship for me though.

I am building a 338 Yogi (LM Imp) and was wondering what people think of the McMillan actions. Never used them before. Sales Rep said they use the 'extra long action' in their TAC338s.

400 bucks more than a Stiller. Is it worth it not waiting 5 months for a stiller?

Thinking of using a Seekins DBM, does that work with it?

Sorry, have little to no experience working with their actions.

Have you checked with Kirby Allen or Defiance Machine about their receivers? I think Defiance makes Kirby's for him but to his specifications.

I love my BAT but if I couldn't get a BAT it would be something made by Glen Harrison, ie. Defiance Machine.

Yeah, I have looked into them, have a call in at least. Another option for sure. Looking for info on McMillan though please. I can find plenty on Defiance.

Seriously....no more about Defiance. Thank you, I know of them, they are an option, but for what I want, the BAT style actions aren't my top choice, not at this point in the process. They may be what I go with though. They are from the neck of the woods I grew up in, so there is love there.

I hate to be a stickler, but really only want to hear what people have to say about McMillan G30s. Thank you...

Handled both a G30 and a defiance at my smiths, both equally smooth and quality, similar price. I chose to buy a defiance just because I liked it a little better. That said, the G30 is also excellent, no tools need to dissasemble bolt, double extractor, can't go wrong.

If a black "tacticool" type receiver is what you like about the Stiller and G30 you can always black Cerakote a Defiance or BAT.
