Normally the accuracy falls off but copper fouling can also cause that.

Barrel life depends on how well you clean it, how fast the velocity if and how much the cartridge
is over bored.

Stainless barrels seem to have better barrel life than chrome Molly and any good stainless barrel
should give you good life based on the above conditions.

If your velocities are below 3000 ft/sec you will get many years of use from it. and as the velocity
goes up the barrel life goes down normally.

Yup, I've had .308 Win barrels go from 4,000 - 6,000 rounds. Replaced them when they were still shooting decent, but not as good as they were. At the range, that translates to the same score, or close to it, being posted, but a lower x-count.

Noticed that the accuracy of my Kriegers just falls off gradually.

Shooters with higher-intensity cartridges end up replacing the barrels a lot more often, that's just the trade-off for those high performance cartridges.

if you notice loss of accuracy, clean very well, then bore scope to ck. throat and bbl.
