7828 ssc what can i expect

It's a pretty good choice for 28SM! Slings a 169gr at 3250fps!

Pretty temp sensitive. 40F to 60F seems to have jumped 40 fps.

Holy smokes! I beleive you but will also say I've certainly not seen it be that sensitive in my rifles. Different lot maybe

Like I said earlier, I use a lot of 7828. 90 above to 30 below never seen more than 50 fps change.

Well my 300 win mag likes it to behind 208gr ELDMs. Mild load about 2710fps, but accurate. The load shoots 208gr Berger LRHT and ELDM under .5 MOA.

My LGS about a hour & half away has many IMR powders. Including decent pricing on primers. As to what I see online. I think a lot of people have given up on reloading in my area. It's more of a old timers game here. Most people buy factory ammo for deer season & call it good for the year.

just curious about this powder. I will try in 7mm prc with 175 eldx

I haven't loaded bigger calibers yet. 223, 6.5grendel, 6.8 spc, 30-06.


The 7828 was the only magnum powder I saw so I bought a pound.

It does well in my 7mm stw but I only go up to the upper 160s. I load it fairly hot, but most all my powders perform better with hot loads out of that gun.

That powder was literally invented for the 7mm Remington Magnum, and it works wonderfully for the rem mag and similar sized cartridges. The 7PRC is virtually identical to the rem mag.
