22 CREEDMOOR

I had a r700 with a 22" 8 twist and ran 88's @ 3250 with 40 gr of H4350. I sold that gun and am building a tikka 7 twist now, kinda regretting not getting a 7.5 twist because i heard of the 88's can blow up.

At under 1k DA, I could not get 2 different 8 twist barrels to shoot anything heavier than an 75gr consistently under .5". I switched to a 7" twist and have no issues running 88s/90atips in 1 ragged hole.

Stick with a .219 bore no matter that twist rate you pick, the tighter .218 is the bigger cause of the jacket failures and blow ups, not the 7" twist.... A .218 7" twist at 22 creed speeds is just asking for it. Some get lucky, some don't.

I'm running 90gr Bergers with 40.5gr H4831sc.
Do you know how fast you are running, and are you 1/2" moa?
I'm running H4831 38.5 and getting 2809 fps out of a 22". I'm just wondering if I want to chase the speed up to 3200 fps or save my barrel and powder. 1-7 twist.
I just got this gun a couple of weeks ago and I have 170 rds down it.
