I am sure this my have been covered in other post, but I am looking at building a 22 creedmoor to shoot 80 to 95 grain bullets and some of the hammer bullets. Mostly for hunting not over 500 yards. I need help with barrel lenght and which twist rate to run. I appreciate any help any of you can give.

I was in the same boat recently… I ended up going with a Bartlein 22" 1:7.5 twist medium palma. The 1:7.5 should be enough to stabilize the 95s without being too much twist for the lighter bullets.

For what's it's worth, my 1:8 22/250 AI (very similar to 22 CM) does extremely well with the 88 gr ELDM but could not stabilize the 95 gr SMK.

Here's a 14-15 inch "group" with the 95 gr SMK (red circles) followed by a 5 shot group with the 88 gr ELDM.

Im running 20 inch barrel 1-7.5 with 80.5 bergers at 3050fps heres 3 shot group at 100, 39.0 grains of h4350

I have a Remy 700 shorty with a CBI 7.5 twist 24" long. It shoots everything 73-85.5 grain at 1/2" or better. It didn't really like 95 grain pills but I didn't mess around with load mixes either. A full custom on Curtis axiom loves 69-77 grain out its 8 twist Kreiger. No group has been over 1/4"! Full custom on Lone Peak Razor prolly my tightest group ever out a Oregon Mountain Rifle's Carbon barrel 8 twist just got it together and only shot 2 groups of 3 69 Sierra TMK all shooting Peterson Brass and H4350. I just haven't gotten around to try any heavier bullets out of the full customs. I must warn you your going to fall in love with it!!!! 85.5 we're running 3300 the 69's we're running 3600 no problem I had 3700 but backed down to take it easy on the brass I never did find pressure tho.

I am running a 26" 1&7twist barrel running 85.5 Bergers at 3260fps shot steel at 1050yds today in 14mph wind you will really like it I can run 73 gr hammer hunters 3600fps they are deer killers

I had Blue Mountain Precision spin up my 22 Creed prefit and I'm pretty sure their reamer had 0.100" freebore. I believe most are around 0.080".

Which one do you like better the 22-250ia or the 22 creedmoor?
