Exactly. Only thing i disagree with is Elk are tougher then most people think and can take a punch even double lunged

I'll say that from the perspective of African game.

If I can break a shoulder, damage two lungs enough to have nature take it's course and have an exit wound with blood, nothing is altogether that hard to kill.

Now wound something with a poor(ish) shot and once the adrenaline gets going, almost everything become a bullet soaking tank. Elk included.

which brings us back to the bring enough gun part of the 6.5 CM.

Great whitetail round though.

I'm glad we've determined a 6.5 creedmoor can kill an elk.

We waded through grizzly-elk, regular elk, African dangerous game, .22's, and finally came to a sensible conclusion.

Specifically elk hunting i shoot them in shoulder for this purpose. Break shoulder they are done and enough gun to get through to vitals

Different bull with on side front removed (it was shattered as well) 140gr eldm.

Weird stuff lol lol lol

Move the goalposts 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

The vitals were inside the animal, it did not blow them out of the body cavity, and I **** sure didn't dig them out. They were quartered and packed out, not drug out whole by a tractor.

One was around 200yds, and I'd take the shot at 600yds without question, in a heartbeat. The other about 60yds. Which is funny because even at muzzle velocity the match bullet didn't "blow up". Both didn't go 20yds. Even got exits! I know, unbelievable.

Now move the goalposts again......

200 yard's exactly. Within guns range. Fyi this is a long range hunting forum. You went through the hassle of taking that picture. Either way id honestly have hard time believing any of it ive just seen too much first hand but you do you. Ill keep my lapua and keep killing elk at 800+. You know those lapuas are scary

I'm perfectly comfortable and capable of shooting and killing at long range. I wasn't going to walk away from them to take a longer shot. They were where they were, and I was elk hunting.

I suppose you'd hop in your SxS and drive away from them to get a longer shot? Well news flash, no two tracks where I was. I have no issues taking the shot that presents itself, maybe you and your ego do.

Keep shooting a lapua. Hope it works out for you, will definitely help the ego issue..

Keep moving goalposts.....you are still wrong.
