25 creedmoor/ 25prc

I had one built last fall on a Terminus Kratos. 22" carbon six sendero 7 twist. Shooting 133gr bergers around 3050FPS with 57.5 grains of N565. Barrel has not sped up yet and has around 105 bullets down the barrel. Straight jacket armory chambered the barrel and Axisworks put the rifle together. It is fun to shoot with a brake or suppressed.

Berger 133
CBTO 2.229 -.020

I have a McGowan that I custom ordered. It is a 7tw,18" bartlein #5 contour, 1.20 shank and .950 muzzle that I will chamber as my target barrel so I don't shoot out the carbon six. I should get around 3k when it speeds up. I will shoot this one suppressed and keep the brake on my carbonsix.

Another variation on a theme. There isn't anything wrong with it but is still a variation.

Within seconds of a 'new' case showing up on the market, someone has necked it up and down then put their order in for reamers and dies. I've done it myself.

The same thing happened when the 7mm RSAUM showed up so we necked it down to accept the 6.5 and made the 6.5 GAP 4S, now just the 6.5 RSAUM. The .25 version came along when the 131 ACE showed up and then the Bergers. This case has just a tad more powder than 6.5 PRC but there is very little impact where velocity is concerned, mostly due to the short barrels used for suppressors.

It's always fun playing at the reloading bench, making something new to you then following through to completion. The biggest difference nowadays is the amount of time it takes to get reamers and dies. I fail to enjoy waiting several months to a year to get the proper reamer. I make my own dies but the reamers are more than I care to take on.

If the PRC case is not the draw for a new cartridge, you can use the:

25-284
25 RSAUM
.25-06 or (AI)
.25x47 Lapua (cute little cartridge for hunting)
.250 Ackley Imp. (250 Savage)
.257 Roberts or (AI)

My favorite for longer barrels is the .25 WSM.:)

Enjoy the process!

:)

Wow that really a nice pair.
You are lucky!

I had a 25 Creedmoor built on a Tikka action 5 or so months ago. 24" fluted Brux #3, 1-7.

I also had JGS do a .25 PRC reamer for me and I have a Manson .25-.284 reamer sitting here. I haven't used either yet. I use the 25 CM for deer, coyotes and chucks. It's throated for 135 Berger's but I currently shoot the Berger 115gr Classic Hunter @ 3172. I want fast and flat with this rifle. I shoot Berger 135gr Classic Hunter's in my 6.5 Creedmoor's. I have taken mule deer with the 115gr Berger with excellent results. I'm looking forward to Hornady releasing their new heavy 25 cal here in the near future.

What are the specs on the prc reamer?

Have 2 - 25 PRC's, love the cartridge. 135's @ 3200+ out of a 24" barrel with H1000 or RL26. Recoil is tame for a "medium magnum". It's my do-all hunting / occasional match rifle. My reamer is set up so they fit in a short action just fine. Believe my reamer is a Manson.
