7mm short action chamberings?

The reality is a 7 SAW, 7-08 AI or a straight 7-08 is a good choice in a short action.
I wonder if those cases would perform well with small mag primers? Seeing as there are some small pocketed in 6.creed and a few other medium sized cases.
I've seen that too. And those cartridges are pretty interesting to me. I believe if the flash hole is standard size then it has reliable ignition. In really cold weather then large rifle primer is probably a better option.

Good point.
I've heard Lapua will temporarily stop producing straight 284 until further notice.
Yup that is a good point. A person could size 6.5x284 brass. But then the dreaded donut could be an issue. If I went that route then I'd look into an inside reamer if the cartridge was a good fit for me.

Maybe using a Lee mandle die (.277 and .284) on a progressive would be a fix in sizing up.

I think Lapua will begin producing 284 again if...after the war in Ukraine ends and they can get enough raw materials that they are rich in.

The easy button is a 7-08 variant in a SA. If more perfomance is needed/ desired then a LA in a 280 rem to 7mm RM is the other easy button.

Well dang it. All this 7mm talk got me worked up lol. I just ordered a box of 162 ELDM and 180 ELDM through work lol. I don't even have a 7mm in my stable. Heck I don't even have my 260 AI done yet lol.
