Oregon Measure 114, the Changes to Firearm Ownership and Purchase Requirements Initiative, is on the ballot in Oregon as an initiated state statute on November 8, 2022.

A "yes" vote supports this ballot initiative to: require permits issued by local law enforcement to buy a firearm; require photo ID, fingerprints, safety training, criminal background check, and fee payment to apply for a permit; and prohibit manufacturing, importing, purchasing, selling, possessing, using, or transferring ammunition magazines capable of holding more than 10 rounds and make violations a class A misdemeanor.

A "no" vote opposes this ballot initiative thereby maintaining no limit on the capacity of ammunition magazines, except for hunting, and the existing law, which requires a seller/transferor to request a background check before firearm purchase

Yes (not to vote yes) this is the information I heard about for voters.
People in Oregon need to pay attention to what is being proposed and how they should vote. It is everyone's right to vote, which way you vote will determine how you are going to live in OREGON. If something like this passes it could likely move to other STATES!
I think that Portland already has a TAX for every bullet sold.

Says 14 other states already require a permit to purchase, so Oregon is just trying to be like the other cool & hipster states. Manbuns unite, lol!

Fine people of Oregon - please go vote and mark "NO" on Measure 114.

I'm puzzled how it is legal to charge a fee & require so many hoops be jumped thru to exercise one of our Constitutional rights. It's not called the Bill of Privileges...is it? Seems like a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Permission to purchase is an infringement. It should be challenged in court. They like legal precedings, set a precedent.

I voted and of course it was a NO vote. I'm from Eastern Oregon and what is worrying me is how the west side of the state votes. Guess we will probably know by sometime tomorrow.

You nailed it because Washington (state) has the same issue of west side vs east, with Seattle & surrounding cites dictating the politics for the entire state, much to my friend's chagrin. He lives in Spokane (hunter/gun owner).

Until everyone sees that progressive ideology only leads to more crime along w/fewer rights & freedom - then votes accordingly - the enlightened minority will be subjected to the whims of the ignorant majority.

If EVERY gun owner would vote for freedom "we" would win every election! But people are apathetic & don't get out to vote. It's killing us all.

Just checked the election results. Measure 114 is at a 50/50 deadlock at the time I checked. To me, even if it fails, which is going to be close. It's a loss they will get it passed next time. And then they will want more control. Just plain unbelievable for me. Guess it just shows how old and out of touch I am.

The city/country debate really is a truth. I spent high-school and college in Oregon and probably only voted in 2x election cycles. I think the last run, the r took 33 of 36 counties and lost by a few percent points. The portions outside the i5 corridor run so red they make Iowa and Texas look like liberals. It's pretty similar with a few exceptions in Washington and used to be true of California as well.

Everyone I know voted no on 114, but if Multnomah county goes for it... moot point.
