Anyone Shooting 30 Nosler anymore?

I think the reason you see "so many" more 300prc rifles being sold is because there are probably 50x as many built and on the market. Lots of corvettes for sale...not as many Lamborghini's.

I shoot a 300prc because at the time of purchase ammo was readily available and so were nice factory rifles with cip length magazines. In the last 4 1/2 years since my 300prc purchase I've never seen a box of 30noz on a shelf.

The 30noz "with a long throat" will push the same bullets as a 300prc but faster. If you want a custom chamber in a rifle with non saami dimensions and are a reloader go 30noz hands down. ADG makes good brass if you can get it.

If you want a rifle that you can shoot factory ammo in go 300prc. If you want to reload with lapua brass go 300prc. I'd give the 30noz a 10% advantage over the 300prc.

I'm going to rebarrel my Rem 700 300 ultra to 30 nosler. I've never heard any negatives about the 30 nosler.

Interesting, but that's exactly what I did. My 300 RUM was just too much of a good thing. The 30 Nosler is much more pleasant to shoot and is adequate for my needs.

I've got a few boxes of Nosler Trophy ammo with 180 Accubonds, if anyone is interested.

Love my 30N with 0.215" freebore. I agree with most the PRC caught more fame because of the better factory ammo and original reamer. I also think 30N brass early on had few options before ADG started producing. I considered hard about going with Alex or Ryan's 28/30N chamber.

I have two 30 Noslers. I was shooting one today. It is my favorite of the 30 calibers. To me if your reloading, it's pretty much a perfect case design. Its primary purpose was to challenge the 300 rum. It gets very close to it and is a lot shorter. The 215's have a node around the 3,050 mark and another one over 3,100 mark if you shoot a 26" barrel you can reach the second node very easily. A friend has his shooting 3,150 which is another node that I don't want to even try to reach but he has a long FB and a 28" barrel. The one I was shooting today was a 24" barrel and was very comfortably hitting the 3,050 node with Retumbo and H1000. N565 is a powder that works also. Will be shooting it tomorrow in it. I will also be trying the 230's in this new one next week.

I'm hoping to hit the 3,000 mark in the 24". How far away were you from pressure on that barrel?

Dallas (lane precision) built my 20" 30 nosler. It's a bartlien carbon, 8 twist to be capable of shooting heavy monos. Right now I'm running the 208 LRHT's at 2980 fps with H1000, in a load that lasts 10+ rounds in my ADG brass. If I ran N568 or N570, I could likely get 75-100 fps more pretty easy. Has .215" freebore, Dallas's spec'd reamer. Built on a Bat action too, awesome set up, I absolutely love it. Even at sub 9.5lbs wearing a can, it's a dream to shoot supressed.

Your build inspired me to build a mid range hunter, 18 inch CF in 300WM to launch 215s. AAC Titan QD will grace the muzzle end.

I have a 28 Nosler that is a hammer with the 195 Bergers at 3150fps and it is an elk killing setup! I use nobler brass on that and have cases that have 10 loadings on them and they are still usable, I never had a problem with the 28 Nosler brass. I also bolt a 30-28 Nosler and it shoots great too. I have good loads with the 215 and 230gr Bergers and am currently starting a load with the 245gr Bergers. There is great brass for them in ADG, Peterson and I think ALPHA makes it too and like I said the Nosler brass has been tough brass for me. I would defiantly take a 30-28 or even a 30 Nosler over the 300 PRC.

I was shooting the 180 AB with 82.0 H1000 and a Fed 215M in Nosler cases and seeing brass flow into the ejector hole. Barrel is 26" and velocity was just over 3,000 according to the LabRadar.

Accuracy is very good but I'm not getting anywhere near the ballistic performance that you guys are getting.

The 30-28 definitely has some advantages over the straight 30 Noz. barrel length and powder being equal besides brass life, 3100 is easily achieveable with a 215 even with Nosler brass and not all 30 nozs will get there especially with a saami reamer.
568 is a very promising powder in the 30-28 and its a full case in the 28 not sure you can get enough in the 30 case to get to 3100 or maybe even 3050
