It was a hot one today - 90+ degrees and humid here in OH. I don't have any chrono data (yet), but had some pleasant results with the 260 gr HH in my 338 RUM today. This was my first outing ever with Hammer bullets, so was definitely happy with the results. May be a little while before I have free time to shoot again (completing a Mohs surgery fellowship), but when I do, I'll post up chrono data.

338 RUM
New ADG Brass
Fed 215
H1000
CBTO: 3.158" (0.020" off lands)

Worked up from 87 gr to 90.5 gr. All 4 shot groups at 100 yards. May have to try going up a little more to find my pressure ceiling. No excessive bolt lift, flat primers, or ejector swipe at 90.5.

Finally got the chance to shoot these over the Magneto today. Using H1000 and the 260 HH, results as follows out of my 30" 338 RUM. 4 shots per charge, not the best sample size, but it's something.

89 gr: 2864 Avg, SD 9
90 gr: 2905 Avg, SD 13
90.5 gr: 2921 Avg, SD 6.3
91 gr: 2939 Avg, SD 4.2

I'm thinking I may have a little more room to go with powder charge. Was using Nosler data for the 265 ABLR and max was 91 with H1000. I didn't notice any pressure signs, so may try to bump it up a little more. I shot a group with 91 gr (without the magneto attached) and it wasn't spectacular (~ 1.5 MOA).

I'll post more when I get out again!

I'll play.

Remington 700, worked over by me.
26 inch 10T Krieger, chambered by me with Serengeti reamer
Brass: fully prepped LC 67 Match, unturned
H4350
CCI 250
FGMM 215M
Vortex HD LHT 3-15X50
Ti PRO 3
166 HH loaded to the 1st ring, closest to tip

Ran QL and picked the charges to start with. The pressure test loads were ran with 1/8 LEE FCD. I did not like the feel, as you are dependent on pretty close to exact case length to be consistent. Decided to drop the step. For the charge validation I just ran the prepped brass with dry lubricant through a neck sizer, no expander.

Loaded ammo at our club stat house. Have a place to mount the coaxial press.

See the note at 58.5 - swipe marks, I quit at that point and picked 57.5 with intention to do seating depth test. Used different fresh targets. The CCI ignited 2 rounds bunched together. Instead of loading more of the same, I wanted to see how sensitive is that charge with different primers. Primed a couple, loaded them with the same charge and same COL. Seems no POI difference.

Not done yet, still work in progress, just hoping to add the data to GL Taylor's data. In the next few weeks before the opening day I plan to go back to the range at least once a week to shoot cold bore and a quick follow-up. No 5 shot groups as the intented range to harvest deer would be inside 300.

As long as I can hit a 3/4 inch paster with the 2 shots on every outing that's GTG on my book. I can kill deer with it. FYI, point of aim is the center crosshair.

Note: jotted down 67.5 on the target, should have been 57.5.

Interesting to note. On the bottom picture there is another 230 caliber hole from a different rifle. The holes left by the 166 HH do not even come close in appearance to the other hole.

I don't see anyone mention N565 with the 124's in a PRC. I wanted to post that I've gotten fantastic accuracy and a great node between 57.8 and 58 grains. Velocity is in the 3180 range (26") with zero pressure. I know it can be pushed quite a bit faster but the Lapua brass should last forever. I'm at three firings on 100 cases and primer seating is as tight as new.

Got 2 6.5 PRC work-ups to report:

124 HH
Federal 210 match
Bertram brass
No crimp

Defiance/Gunwerks Custom 6.5 PRC - 24" Bartlein CF
62g N560
OAL 2.858
3391 Average
0.3 MOA

Christensen Summit Ti / McMillan 6.5 PRC - 24" CF
58.5g N560
2.858 OAL
3205 Average
0.25+ MOA

Let's go get some venison...

I didn't see the extremely quick " it's shipped " response and immediately thought " words out, bullets are 1 month out" till I saw the website lol

I will load 63.5- 63.75 next outing, see what happens. If I can get decent group around 3660, I am running with it, will harvest a doe with the load. Shooting distance from the hide is 235 to 250 yards, front to back in the clearing.

Edit: @GLTaylor Add COL.
