For Those of You who Wear Costa Del Mar Frames...

Here's some more photos, one on a dark background and one on a light. Yeah, they are hard to get a good photo of for sure. I'm fairly confident they are legit Costas but just not what I expected. I'm going to try and check out some with glass lens if I can find some. I took a couple photos of them on my face and you could hardly tell they even had mirror lens. Thanks for all the feedback.
They look about right to me but again hard to tell from pictures. 338weatherby is correct.

Hoping folks on here can help. I recently purchased a pair of Costa Del Mar Jose frames with blue mirror 580 polycarbonate lenses. When they arrived I was surprised that the blue mirror finish on the lenses was not as bright as I thought it was going to be, more of a matte. I compared them to a bunch of images and videos online of the same Jose frames and all the ones I saw online sure seem to be much more "mirrored" and bright blue than the ones I was sent. Can anybody tell me if these appear to be "normal" or if I should be worried about being sent a non-authentic pair of frames? Or maybe do the real glass lenses have a more "mirrored" and bright blue finish on the lenses than the polycarbonate? Everything else with them appears authentic but I'm no expert. Thanks for any help!
Did you buy them direct from Costa? If you bought them online anywhere other than Costa or a retail shop then there's a high probability you got a knock off.

Welcome to the conglomerate Luxottica, they force these stand alones to sell out to them and then they rape the hell out of the products and company.

I refuse to buy anything owned by them or darken the doors of one of their optical joints.

Big difference between glass and the poly lenses. The glass ones will reflect mirrorlike far more. What you're seeing is normal.

No, from a third party. But I did some research them so it wasn't a blind buy.

Can't help you there. But I believe in the brand. I am wearing a pair I purchased in 1999.

I had an opportunity to check them out in person over the weekend. The glass lenses very clearly have a much more mirror finish and a much brighter finish than the plastic (polycarbonate). In the photo, the glass are on the bottom and the polycarbonate on the top. The real world difference is even more noticeable than in the photo. As a side note, I showed the rep the pair I had and he confirmed they were authentic Costa brand. I'm planning on returning them and getting a pair of the glasses lenses. Thanks again for all the replies.

Got to buy glass, there very much is a difference. I have about 6 pairs and fish often, the poly do work well for a short time but scratch very easy. Being from the coast and dealing with sand poly is not the way to go.

Silver sunrise works good for about everything especially when it's low light or sun in and out of clouds.

I'll have to show this post to my wife tonight. She sells Costa sunglasses. My Fantails with glass lens and green tint are very mirrored. Costa has amazing customer service. Let them know if you think they are wrong. They sent me brand new glasses after the little rubber inserts on the ear pieces came off. Then told me to keep my old ones.
