Anybody use E-Tracks?

I probably strap mine different than most people , but I haul stuff all the time and haven't lost any thing yet , 400 miles each way . I run the winch cable around the front of the the trailer rail , and just snug it . I run one strap through the suspension arms and back too each front d ring . I use a receiver hitch in the back too run the strap over , then tighten it down over the ball I then take the tail and do a figure 8 and tie it back too the strap . If you have too much excess strap , I double the strap back through the d ring and tie it . I use 3 in straps not the dinky ones.

Actually what you are doing is the most common here. Winch the front end to trailer, straps on back. Several acceptable attachment points in the back, main thing is that it will not bounce on the trailer or shift side to side. We tighten the back last usually. Most important thing is that it cannot bounce on the trailer where it is tied down or the straps will loosen. Use good ratchet straps too. You only need a couple so don't skimp out here.

I actually use them in my hybrid enclosed portion of the trailer. I run two on each side vertically about 24" apart. Then I built bunks/shelves (2) for use as bunks or storage shelves for gear during hunts. I have a few horizontally across the top inside as well for hang hooks. The 2x4 stud brackets work great for use with the bunks. Fully adjustable up and down for any use needed.

I am lean toward setting tracks with wheel bonnetts so the suspension can move with loosening ratchet straps.

A friend uses the Etrack exclusively for tying down his machines. Uses the "wheel tie down" straps and the machines don't move or shift at all. Suspension moves freely but the machines goes nowhere. I've been contemplating as doing them to my trailer but I've got a Diamond plate deck and it's not quite as simple. I have 6 recessed drings in my floor and then 4 hooks on my side rails. I actually may be getting a larger trailer, I have a 12' now and am considering moving to a 16' as one option, the other options was to buy a even larger trailer and then make my own custom hauler/camper. I've got a 95 Coleman tent trailer that's in perfect condition and I was thinking of removing the axle and cutting off the tongue, mounting it to a 24' trailer with and building a side ramp to put my Defender on it. Anyways…..

I use Erickson wheel shock tie down system. Amazon has them for approx $55. Fast easy to use and have never had the sxs move at all. Nice toy, sure you will enjoy it. Have fun and be safe.

I have a 2021 defender xt hd10 1200 miles on her. Only issue I've had was pulling a tree down with the winch sent the 4x4 into limp mode. Probably my fault. I'd buy another in a heartbeat.

Well picked up set of 10' e tracks along with Erickson e track chocks and their wheel tie down. I measured about 10x times! I can set the tracks over tandem axle, bolt thru two cross members such wheelbase is centered over axles. Holes on e track line up perfectly to cross members. Looks pretty darn good! It will be a while since I get an epidural shot on Friday morning so I will be taking it easy for a week.

Remember most of the weight is in the rear of the defender as the motor sits behind the front seat and under the bed. I'd be inclined to keep the engine centered over the axles.

Agreed, It will be something like this when I picked it up. I will have it back slightly from this though. I knew that but somehow I misspoke on previous post. I threw it on trailer and noticed some measurements instead of actually where it needs to be. Thanks for good reminder and hopefully kept me from doing something stupid that I would have been really annoyed at since I went over this with dealer.

Is that trailer a 16' bed?

Looks like it. I have a similar size trailer. 7x20. I can put my SxS at the rear, center or front and the only difference is tongue weight. Being a tandem axle, it's not too light at the tongue when the SxS is at the rear. No fish tailing or issues from that scenario. Single axle trailer is another story. Tongue weight is still at the 15-20% range.

Twin 3500 lb axles, electric brakes on both axles. After looking over the weight more closely, the weight distribution is 47/53 so really not that big of deal. I'd like to keep front clear in case I want to place a freezer etc.
