What rifles you guys running for varmint hunting?

22 Creed is very difficult to find dies for right now. The 22/250 AI is the kissing cousin of the 22 Creed, and it does not stink in terms of accuracy, speed, with brass and dies available.

I have been hunting coyotes for a long time. I have used a lot of sub calibers from 17 AH, 17 Mach 4, half a dozen factory and custom 17 Rem's. At that same time, I was also running 22/250's and custom 243's. Later on, I settled on a 22/250 AI shooting the 55g Sierra's and Ballistic Tips at 4050 fps and 60g Berger match HP at 3700 fps with Win 760. Later on, I had a custom 6 Rem shooting the 80g at 3500, then had a switch barrel added with 6 Rem AI shooting the 70g Noslers at 4100 and 80g at 3800.

I don't save pelts, and I don't like to see a coyote run off after getting hit on quartering shots.

Recently, a group of us found a very effective Bolt gun load only, for Rem 700's with the 55g Sierra Blitz lead tip shooting a load Hot load of XBR 8208, CCI 450 into very tiny groups at 3470 fps in 24" rem factory rifles. The 55g Sierra lead tip blitz bullet just massacres large coyotes from all angles, and we have a lot of large coy dogs in our area that are from a Red Wolf Mix.

I like to be able to hit a coyote behind the diaphragm on a trotting shot where he will be laying in his tracks.

Use enough gun, and I do not count on making perfect standing shots only.
What's the powder charge for the 8208 if you don't mind sharing?

The .17HMR, .22LR, .20P (11 twist, 40VMax) & .22-.250 (7.7 twist, 75 ELDM0) works for almost any occurrence. A wide variety of powders for the .20P & .22-.250.

Hunting -> gophers, prairie dogs, yellow belly marmots, ground squirrels, porcupines (all gnawing critters), coyotes, rattlesnakes, Won't shoot cats & wifey thinks foxes are cute.

In centerfires, a couple of 204's, a 22 CM, a 243 AI and a 6 CM.

I'm fire-forming brass on a newly built 20x47 Lapua with a 90% load but it shoots well enough doing so that I've taken it to 725 on steel, with first round impact on a 10" plate. Hit about 8 o'clock, made a hold correction and center punched it with the 2nd shot.

I figured I'd test it on fur and believe it's going to perform like I wanted on fox and bobcats. This woodchuck was taken at 142 yds above the end of the red container, the round must of scared him to death - I found no entrance, exit nor sign of blood.

I guess the Glock 26 counts, too. I dispatched this one here, 10' from my dog kennel.

.243 and .224 Valkyrie. I tried my luck with a .22 nosler but couldn't ever get it to feed consistently

My choices are from my .223, 6mm PPC or a 243 WSSM. Depends on the wind and the critter. Wouldn't build a WSSM now as components
(brass) is nearly impossible to find.
I found a ton the other day and called all my buddies who had a 243 wsm and they all had dumped their rifles because of the scarcity of brass. Next time I find some I will let you know.

308 win 168 ELDM about 200 yards. I guess my range queen PSS is a varmint rifle now. I'm waiting to see some yotes and badgers.

I'm looking a building a 22 creedmoor.
I run three dependent upon shooting conditions, Tikka T1x 22 long rifle bolt action. CZ527 American in 17 Hornet. Thompson Center Venture in 204, all depends, on the circumstances, however all bases are adequately covered.
