Long range hunting help

I love that camo color, but what's not to like from your builds.
Jack Nicholson Thank You GIF

If it was me I would take the old custom 300 Weatherby and have it milled for the Wyatt's box and re barreled with a faster twist and go shoot.
I was thinking the same thing especially since the OP already has a ton of brass. I believe the 1-10" works fine for the 215 Hybrid. Broz uses I think a 28" barrel on his 300 WM. I'd do a 1-10" 215 Hybrid, and 28" barrel for the 300 WBY. Just 2 cents from the peanut gallery.

I may just do that in addition to the other build. I do not think that Blaser offers that caliber for R93 ?
Did hear that some differnt folks were building barrels for the Blasers. Thanks so much !
I don't think they offer 300 Norma for R93. Mine is R8. You have much greater choice of calibers for R8. I know that some gunsmiths are building barrels for Blasers but you may need to supply an old shot out barrel as a donor. You may want to check the Blaser forum for more info on the subject. Also there is an aftermarket optic mounting system for Blaser made from small german company that allows you to use the same scope on multiple barrels without the need to rezero with no negative effect on accuracy. If you are interested I can give you details.

Please do let me know company.
And do you know anything about the after market barrel manufacturers? Man every Blaser I ever shot was lights out. I've considered a K95 but so dang expensive.. thanks

If your going Marco polo hunting from what I've seen the altitude is high so the last thing you wanna do is over spin your bullets and tear them apart.
Whatever you build I would do it around ADG or Lapua brass and a 10 twist

I have R93 300 Wm. In the past I shot berger 190 HVLD then switched to 180 acubonds because of availability. There are a couple of smiths that do blaser barrels, from what I understand they will only do calibers that blaser doesn't make/catalog. I looked into getting a 6.5x47L and they said no problem.

Marco Polo way outta my league. I have both 300 WTBY and 300 RUM. Mine are as different as apples and oranges. My WTBY is Mark V Ultra light and Rum is Sendero. If I was to go up that high after sheep it would be the WTBY just cause of light weight. Sitting in a stand RUM. I run Hammer bullets 174gr in WTBY and 214Gr in Rum both hammer hunters. Never shot game at 1K came pretty close on mule deer buck at 930 yards Rum hammered him. For me tho I would not attempt a shot at 1K from a hunting position perched on a mountain unless I was 100% dead solid rest. I just dont shoot that enough from field position. I am not saying it cant be done. Anymore I limit about all my shots at game to less then 600. Just dont shoot enough anymore. Good luck and whatever you decide please show off the build to us we all like gun porn...

I'm 58 years old, live in tn. Hunted several countries and states.
Taken over 400 animals mostly with rem 700 300 weatherby.
Kevlar brown precision... shot barrel out ..Hart replaced .. made into 300 rum .. had good results with that too. Switched t o blaser .. but limited twist options means will not shoot heavy bullets well at long range.
Light bullets didn't work out well.. so now building another 30 caliber.
I'm not certain 1 in 9 or 1 in 8 300 weatherby or rum. My plan is to shoot 215 OR 230 Berger VLD. 25 to 26 inch barrel.
Brux or Benchmark with shortie break. Would like use lapua or norma brass. Most all my game have been shot 600 yards and in .
My real goal is to use new rifle out to 1000 yards. Definitely have Marco Polo on the list.
I most recently attended a long range §hooting school and learned alot. Thanks for any input at all. THANKS

have to u put any thought into the 300PRC? The reason I say that is Owen with Fromt Range Precision has 300 PEC build kits ready to go. AG composite stocks, Bigjorm TL3 actions, Proof CF Sendero Prefit chambered in 300 PRC 1:9Tnwith muzzle theraeded for a a very reasonable price . Rifles are ready to go.

Too get 16 firings of a brass you really took are of it.What do you Anneal with?
I'm undecided in what to buy to anneal with
.Thanks
For sure. another method is to set the tripod height to where the ballhead iis about sternum heights. That usually gets you pretty close lose to a comfortable position.
