Introducing the Absolute Hammer

Just got back from the range
Here's my results for the AH
All shots from a bench over a magneto speed
Temp started 35 degrees and warmed to 47 degrees by the end of the session as the sun came up

7saum, 26 inch brought 5c, 9 twist
ADG brass, once fired, neck turned to .016, annealed in a AMP machine, shoulder bumped to .002
Fed 215 GM primers
Seated the bullet to a COAL of 2.966. With .002 neck tension
Started at 64 grains of RL26 and went up to 67 grains, 1 grain increase per increment. 2 cases for each.
64- 3229,3237
65- 3242,3232
66- 3270,3280
67- 3316,3326
67 grains is a full case
I did load a compressed 2 at 68 to see the results
68- 3425,3439 and primer flow into the firing pin hole.
With this rifle/case/powder/bullet combo 67 is the top end load I would go for.

7RBH, 26 inch Proof Research carbon, 8.4 twist.
Lapua brass, once fired, annealed With AMP, shoulder bumped .002
Fed 215 GM primer
Seated bullets to a COAL 3.40 With .002 neck tension
Started at 88 grains of RL26 and went to 93 grains in 1 grain increments, 2 cases per increment
88- 3426,3430
89- 3445, 3434
90- 3519, 3502
91- 3562, 3567
92- 3620, 3615 pressure, bolt stiff at top of stroke
93- did not shoot as pressure was shown at 92

Now the interesting part. The 7saum showed the better of the 2 for accuracy across all powder charges.
The 7rbh was 2 inch groups at best. I believe because the chamber was cut for the 195 Berger and with the 155 the jump is very substantial.

These are my preliminary findings so far.

As an interesting experiment, I'll have to get some of the 155 AHs to try. I happen to have a 7 SAUM with a 26" Broughton 5c, 9" twist barrel along with some ADG brass, Reloader 26, and both Fed 215m and CCI 250 primers. It would be a good opportunity to see how repeatable the results are across different barrels and builds.
 
Are you guys going to be offering your own load book? You are clearly off the published charts at this point...
I'd like to say yes, but realistically it is probably not doable in the near future. In the near future it is probably more probable that we get a profile in quick load. For now we will keep it with those who are comfortable with the wildcat type loading process. The more we shoot these in various rifles the more comfortable we will be to give cartridge specific advice.

yes that would add validation if it can be repeated by another shooter/rig. Both velocities and bc.
The biggest variable in the test would be the reamer design used to cut the chamber. I know the one used to cut mine is proprietary to Travis at RBros Rifles
I stretched out this bullet/load today and I was pleased and surprised by the results.
I'll say the bc is MUCH better than advertised! Waiting to see other's results too

1070 yards.
then drove up the canyon further to shoot and validate in a different area
1026 yards.
Scope is a Huskemaw that I've used for 5 years and it's proven to trac true and reliably
All dope fed through a Kestrel 5700 with Applied Ballistics linked to a Sig 2400BDX
I used .275 G7
And hit both 1 moa rocks EVERYTIME using this BC number. Total of 7 hits. 5 on the 1070 rock, 2 on the 1026. I would have shot more but I loaded 10 rounds for the test. Shot 2 at 552 yards. First was 2 minutes high. Adjusted bc number. Dialed scope. Shot again hit. Moved out to 1070 with the 552 yard adjusted BC and shot. 3/4 minutes high. Adjusted bc number again. Money!!!
Waiting to see what Steve and the other "testers" come up with.

thank you for that. I would definitely try these with a .275 g7.
