Just picked up a tikka t3 in 260. Starting load work up for it. I have rl23, RL26, rl16 and some H4350. 130 game changers is what I'm starting with. I have some loads ready with 16 and 23 with federal 215 magnum primers. 43-44.5 loads. I see different load data from Sierra and one says good and one says I'm to much. Are magnum primers going to be a bad idea? I used them in my creedmoor just fine.

Starting into a new rifle and new load with mag primers in a cartridge normally using standards......at what is most likely to be a hot load with a standard primer.....let us know you results
Good luck......

I own and shoot a 260, I use federal 210M primers and they work well. Used CCI BR-2 primers also and they were fine but not quite as tight a groups. On powders found H and IMR 4350 powders to be the most accurate but tried IMR4064, varget and RL 15 as well. Both 130gr and 140gr accubonds are my bullets of choice. Brass I'm in the middle of changing from norma to lapua (lapua has less weight spread). Mine probably due to the barrel is not finicky with loads and tends to shoot everything I've loaded for it good, but I do like tight little groups and the IMR4350 with fed 210M primers and 130gr accubonds shot better than a short barreled deer rifle has a right to (it is however set up with good parts). Good Shooting!

My gf and I just set up her Remington PCR in 260. I loaded the first rounds of handloqds that it's seen up to this point.
Lapua brass
Fed 210M
H-Superformance powder
129gn ABLR

Was going to give them a run today, but it looks like it's going to rain all day long here. Bummer.

I have a Remington Model 7 SS. Not exactly long range gear with a pencil thin 20" tube and 2-7 scope, but has proven more than capable of dispatching whitetails out to 400 yards. At a little over 7 pounds loaded, it is a joy to carry on long hikes. With a 1:9 twist, it prefers 120 grain bullets and IMR 4350.

I have a .260 Rem that I like very much. I ended up using H4350 and Berger 140 gr Hybrids or Sierra 140 gr Matchking.

I use regular large rifle primers for that size case. However, for the 6mm Creedmoor with small rifle primers I use the magnum variety.

I've got a 260 that I shoot with fed 210 primers and h-4350. My gun started showing pressure at 42.5 gr of 4350 so I've backed off to 42 gr and am getting around 2700 fps out of a 24" barrel. It's a consistent sub 0.5 moa gun at 100 yards and IF I can read the wind right it mainatains that out to 770 yards (that's the longest I have been able to find space to shoot). That's shooting 140 gr eld-M

Congrats on a great caliber. As stated by others I seem to find H4350 the go to for mine. Seems also the Fed210M is the best primer in mine as well. Recently went to a long range weekend at a shooting school and all the other shooter using big cannons couldn't believe the groups my little 260 shot @ 1000 - 1200 yards. Great little caliber, got to love the .264.

I've had one for about 10 years now and its one of my most accurate rifles.

143ELD-X over H4831SC and Fed 210 primer

4831SC gives good case fill and velocity (as well as being temp stable) for the 140 class of bullets.
