1st LOADs ever.....

****, that is a clean work bench! ;) Congratulations on your new rifle and your venture into reloading.
I have always wanted to try the 6.5 SAUM after reading about it. I have been shooting the 300 SAUM in a
15" single shot bolt action pistol since brass became available. It is a great round and I'm sure you will have much better velocity and flatter trajectory with your caliber. A lot of my friends are moving to this round in their new pistols.
They are shooting 1000 yards with their 7 SAUM's and want a little flatter round so they don't have to do as much trajectory calculations while shooting the gongs.
Keep us informed on your findings with your new loads. Post a photo of your new build and bughole groups you get. I might just use this info to push me into getting a new barrel
on my spare XP100 pistol with a new 6.5 Krieger barrel I have setting in the safe.

I am 100% new to reloading. I received my 6.5 SAUM from GAP recently after a long, but worthwhile wait. After a ton of conversations with @sedancowboy and his incredible generous guidance, and also that of a close friend who also loads 6.5 SAUM, I loaded my first rounds. Probably not a huge milestone for many, but it is rewarding for certain. I am excited for the journey. Once the weather breaks and the winds lie down, I will be headed to the range with my new Labradar. Updates to come for certain.

Thanks again @sedancowboy. I have learned so much from you in such a short amount of time.

looks great you may plan on adding more shelves as this turns into an ever expanding thing

You have entered a new and exciting stage of your shooting/hunting future. Nothing like building you own bullets and seeing the results.
PLEASE post pictures of your first animal with YOUR handloads.
CONGRATULATIONS and YAHOO!!!!!!!!
Will do. The first will likely be whitetail this November.. unless an errant fox or groundhog steps out when I am at the farm target shooting...

I'm not going to offer any advice other than to say it is very cool that Lethal_Chica is a reloader and I encourage her to recruit more of her friends to the hobby and the sport!
Thank you!! I hope to encourage more women to learn to reload after I am further along in the learning process.

I have been taking women waterfowl hunting on the eastern shore of Maryland for over a decade. I've been a guide for many years and I love taking women outdoors to hunt and shoot. I took a group of women to Alberta Canada this year and we slayed ducks and geese... nothing like waterfowl hunting in Canada. I've hunted waterfowl all over the US, to include the famed Arkansas, and Canada is at the top of the list, hands down. This is a photo I took while hunting this past fall in Canada...

I use an Rcbs chargemaster also. I assumed it is right on. Is that to say I need to re-weigh each charge on another scale? I just reloaded a new batch of .300wsm. 60 grains of rl15, 168 grain ablr. Through the chronograph I'm getting a speed range of 2870 to 3100fps. Wondering why the 230fps difference. Any thoughts?

I kind of took the approach like cutting wood "measure twice, cut once".. so yes, I check every powder charge twice to make certain.. especially with something that goes "boom". That could be just me, but I am new and want to take it slow and be precise. Also, I measure twice because in case I mess up and input a wrong load for the RCBS chargemaster...
Someone with way more experience then me on here is going to have to weigh-in on the difference in your velocities.

Better keep this clean...and out of the closet...maybe the game room....that big elk is on the wall somewheres....
