I have a cooper firearms with a 26 " proof research carbon fiber barrel .
I would like to get over 3200 F.P.S
seems like all the powder I should use is gone.
Most post are old and not helpful so I figured cant hurt to see what people are using also what primer are you using
Thanks for any help you wish to offer.

you may try imr 8133

H1000 gone thanks for your help I was hoping to find a good powder that is not hard to find . If I develop a load dont want to have to do it all over again because I cant get the powder.
Ya the problem is every powder that will probably work for you has been very hard to come by. The Norma 217 will be your best bet for now.

Maybe try Big Country sporting goods. I just ordered 8# of retumbo and H1000.
If you ordered from big Country sporting goods, With in the next couple hours you should get a follow up email telling you they are out and it will be a couple weeks. After reading many bad reviews about them I cancelled my order as soon as I got that email

That figures I just ordered 8 pounds of Retumbo and was very happy to see everything go through I guess I'm waiting on the second email now

Tom, Perhaps RL25 may work. Since you are new to reloading I'll say this. Each pound has 7000 grains. So say your 28 Nosler needs 80 grains(no idea, I don't own one). So you get 87 rounds per pound. Barrel will be toast in 1000 rounds probably. So you need 12 pounds of powder to burn your barrel out.

When the powder you like comes in stock again, buy 12 pounds of it. This cycle is repeating more often than usual and save yourself the frustration of being out in the future. Same thing for primers, brass and bullets. Stock up on enough to burn out barrel.
