Leupold Scopes...Do you trust them today?

Fact...most don't. Did I hurt your wittle feewings there bud? You can keep buying that garbage if you want. I learned my lesson a long time ago.
I've had two tracking failures with a vx5 and a vx6, my buddy had a total failure with a vx3 LR he actually missed a 600 yard chip shot on a nice bull.
I have had good luck with my MK5's though, they have totally different internals than the other lines

Sounds like user error to me....

Wow a 600 yard shot is a chip shot ? He should be out winning all kinds of competitions. Unless you were talking golf those chip shots can be real hard!

About a 3 MOA gun is all it take to be inside the chest of a bull elk at 600 yards, ya with a decent set up that better be a chip shot! Only in PRS might that be considered something that would win but I don't know of anything else even open sight matches you better shoot smaller!!

Funny the hubris in your statement - like anybody who uses Leupold don't shoot long range, demand and accurate system or care about zero...lol. You are a real piece of work!
You realize there used to be several companies that specialized in taking Leupolds and freezing the internals then putting them into adjustable rings so they could be used in precision competition like benchrest because they will not hold zero well enough to be competitive in precision long range type matches. Literally the ONLY leupold optic you will see in a BR match is a frozen one!

How long ago was that? I think it is so funny that guys get upset at leupold because their vxII or VXIII didnt track like a 2000 nightforce. People have to compare apples to apples. Put a $2500 Mark5hd up against a $2500 nightforce ATACR.

I guess I'm lucky,
I've cranked and cranked on my mark 4 and lrp, so far so good
I won a match with my mark 4 last year, I was the only one there running Leupold, sure made the Leupold sponsor happy lol

It's interesting to me that the go to scope for silhouette is the Leupold. I shoot with a bunch of older guys and galls that have older rigs and nary a word about failures. Between matches and practice thats a lot of dialing up and down. Recall Silhouette is shot out to 200, 300, 385 and 500 meters.

My vx5 and vx2cds as well as a friends vx3i didn't track as good as a vortex crossfire I have that came on a gun.

Wow you guys must be really good shots. This thread really reminds me of many of the threads on Snipers hide. I suppose the term chip shot needs to be defined.

I think Ive seen 3 names I recognize from Penn rules 1000 bench sister club 2,that have shot world records and other names from the other, and Im not involved in that arena. Then theres many other shooting sports, and guys that shoot alot that are good.Ive had friends that where bowhunters pick it up and shoot real small at 1000=3''They where also 300 bow shooter.
