Im building a 7-300 and am trying to choose a bullet. im down to the Berger 175 or the ABLR 175. anybody have experience with both? Im sure ill try em both for myself but a little insight would be nice.

What'll you be hunting?
I don't have any experience with ABLR's yet but my experience with Berger's has not been good.
I've had unreliable expansion at long ranges, and they're also explosive if you hit heavy muscle or bone.

With that specific berger bullet or bergers in general?

My 28 nosler loves the 175 ablr. Bang flop and complete pass thru on everything But I have only shot Texas sized deer with them so far so that's not saying much. My rifle love them with with a long jump. .105 to be exact.

holy crap that thing must be screaming!!!

After loading 160 part for 7 rem mag in my #1 for 15 years, I tried some 175 ablr.
Found a load inside 12 rounds. Went from 3 shot 3/4" group with 160s at 100, to 3/4" 3 shot group with 175 at 300. I didn't get to tip over an elk with them, and I still have some math to do, but I have been impressed so far.

I tried both but settled on the Hornady 175 eldx. I never killed anything at the ranges you are shooting at 1200 yds but so far the Hornady eldx has been an excellent for me to 600 yds. Red stag, bull tahr, chamois, rams, deer and goats. I killed my bull elk with an SST. Best to try them out yourself. Good luck

Can't speak for Berger's in 7mm in that weight class but the 175 acblr out to oh 500 in my 7mm has been deadly. I'm not pushing it that's hard at 2825 FPS at muzzle.
The Hornady eld-x I've had good and bad luck with them. I think the eld-x is a good bullet especially at distance shots.
Now with Berger's and the 215 in 30 cal. That is a good bullet. Went to those back of this because so many people talked about them so I gave a try. Figure I'd start out on some deer around the home and they kill really good.
i will say this that I think the accubond out to 700 yards will kill anything you want. Period.
