Started collecting and reloading after my son was born....wanted make sure I wasnt putting a bomb in anyone's hand....bought him a 22 and 17hmr in the barracuda model chipmunk....put Leupold ultralites on them...perfect match..got him shooting bigger guns at about 9....killed elk and a deer that year along with a nutria.....good season for him.....reached 14/15...full of resentment at dad after divorce....he won't hunt or shoot with me...and i am close fo giving it all up...........

When I was a young man, I would hunt, fish and target shoot every weekend. Now that I am an old man, I don't hunt,don't fish and rarely go to the range. What makes matters worse, I have 225 acres and can shoot far as I can see and seldom do so. I have got back into buying guns and want to build some also. I am setting up a loading room and work bench in the spare livingroom. I wont sell any gun, just keep adding. I sat back and took and hard look at life. I figure I only have so much time left and would be happier doing what I love,instead of wishing I did. I need to get back to living and not killing myself. I hope all have a great new year and your dreams come true.

Likewise.....at 52 I have taken up cycling....road bike and mtn bike...both on road...road bike for longer more endurance riding..mtn bike for sustained heavier peddling....i purchased the mtn bike in late March and road bike in July....both have 250 miles....i ride the mtn bike three or four times a week and road bike maybe twice.....when time allows.....my hiking for whitetail totaled about 30-35 miles for 9 days.....enjoyed the heck out of it...toughest part was getting the deer down the hill...frozen and nasty....let me remember the back surely isn't worth a crap any longer.....
I went out today to see how far i could get towards where the Wolf tracks were this fall.....only about ten miles..one way....in frozen snow....no thank you....saw three coyotes...on private property...500 and 900 about that again...no shooting....
Shooting guns has been a huge part of my life..since a kid....starting with bb guns and graduated up even though mom kept hiding the 22 ruger single six...she even hid it in pieces....but of course I found them just like all the Christmas presents.....
I have one listed critter I would like to get....just don't know I will ever get the chance to fulfill that coues tag.......
Hope all you guys keep having memories with those kids.......i can guarantee...you will miss them.....

If your not jammed up for the cash, give it another go. Worst case you can sell some of your stuff, and keep the cream of the crop? I spent all day today prepping brass and loading cartridges in the peaceful setting of my basement. When i hear the wife, kids or inlaws i just turn on the tumbler. Dont think i'll ever pack it in completely.

After my last shoulder surgery I was back shooting in less than a week.
After one of the more complex surgeries for a rotator cuff injury it was about four months.
Mine was just grinding the ac joint bones so it wasn't major
Hope to shoot this weekend 308 suppressed should be good

Just pick up one of those over the shoulder shooting pads and don't overdo it too much.
I learned the hard way not to push things too hard too fast after getting my bones ground on and chopped up and just a little too late.
It usually takes about 4-6 days for the inflammation to peak along with the post surgical pain and bout then a week or so for it to reduce.
You certainly don't want those bone ends getting banged together a lot right after surgery or it may end up causing a rapid return of the bone spurs.
