I got 200 156s a few days ago. Going to try Reloder 26 and N570. Just going to keep this post up and see if anyone else is trying the same. I am in NY and it's going to be close to 100 the next few days. I will post results as soon as I can.
Check out post #83 in the thread. I just did some work with the 156 with my 6.5x284.

Greyfox beat me to it. The capacity is close enough to the PRC that load data will be very similar if you apply the standard "start low and work up" idea.Check out post #83 in the thread. I just did some work with the 156 with my 6.5x284.

What barrel length and twist are you using? I have a carbonsix barrel coming in 6.5 x 284 with a 8 twist.I got 200 156s a few days ago. Going to try Reloder 26 and N570. That performance should be achievable with either cartridge using a slow burner like R26, N565, or Retumbo. .Greyfox those are promising numbers. Half inch over 3000' I'd be happy. I'm between this cartridge and the 6.5prc. I'm shooting for at least 2900' with 22-24" barrel with my suppressor.
Thank you for the reply. That's great info. I've been looking hard at these two. With the prc popularity growing I believe it will have a good factory ammo following. I load my own ammo, but it's nice to be able to buy when one is in a pinch. That performance should be achievable with either cartridge using a slow burner like R26, N565, or Retumbo. .
