Unsolicited Advise from an old guy. You will never get anywhere with him directly. How he treats you will reflect directly on his perception of how you treat his daughter, and to a lessor extent her Mother and your Children. Money has nothing to do with it. Make him believe you put her wants and needs above your own and see how he treats you. If you have a little girl, believe me, you will understand when she gets married.I wish my father in law was more like you...he never wanted anything to do with me

Not only do I reload, I am going to use these to teach him how to load real precision ammo for a long range rifle. Start to finish with all the load development and all the why's....

He knows I treat her really well...my wife is awesome. He is just an asshat - he doesn't really have much to do with his daughter or grandkids either.

Call Parish Davis ( Great Southern Gun Works) Mobile , Alabama , he has built several rifles for me and several of my friends . I have no regrets about their looks or capabilities . He is very reasonable and a very nice person to deal with , very low profile but a perfectionist . I prefer McMillan stocks , Hart Cryogenic or Krieger H.lapped barrels and Jewell triggers at around 1lb , hunting rifles . I have one in 65 Creedmoor. I wouldn't even think about the 28 Nosler unless you're going to be doing a lot of shooting over 6-700 yards. The 65 Creedmoor and the factory match 147 eld shoots nearly one hole at 100. I have heard this from others with this rifle in the same ammunition. It does take a little while to smooth out the bolt but for the price point you will be hard-pressed to find another rifle as good. The only exception might be the John Hancock rifle from patriot valley arms. I have one of those rifles as well and it's a tossup as to whom makes a better product. If you want to fit finish and accuracy at that price point you won't find it.
Have you thought about building / assembling two rifles together? Now days it doesn't take a gunsmith with the prefit barrels. Get a stock with chassis or bed the stock yourself. Not hard to do. It may cost I little bit more in the end but you get exactly what you want. It's fun and a real sense of achievement the first time it goes bang. You already build your ammunition, may as well build the rifle too. Just a thought

If I was doing the 28 nosler I would have some guns barreled up by a good smith and have it throated for the Berger 195gr. It's the best Bullet for it and realy makes it shine, the sammi reamer realy isn't set up for the good Bullets. I have 3 of them set up for the 195gr and they are hammers. Weather you barrel up guns you already have or get a new action. You can get a Gunwerks Action with scope base and recoil lug for 825-850.00 and they are very nice actions. They are standardized specks so you can call your smith and have him turn you up a new barrel and ship it out and screw it on. I have used 5 of them and my smith has barreled up over 20 of them. I have buddies shooting them in 1000 y F Class with me and thy shoot great. They are a rem 700 footprint so they use the same stocks, triggers, bottom metal. You can put better rifle together for about the same price or a little more but it will be what you realy want and do what you are expecting of it. My 28 nosler are shooting in the .2's and . .3's and have shot in the .1's quit a few times when I do my part and conditions are favorable. And it's one of the easiest cartridges I have loaded for.
