Hornady A-Tip bullets 250gr 30cal bullet

Well, I think the problem is not only twist, but also case capacity. Your 300 WBY is probably ideally heavy at 220-225 gr.
I believe the 300 Win Mag is ideally heavy at 212-215.
But hey, nothing stopping you.

I'd be all over the 9 twist, and play in my lane.

8 twist I don't think will hurt anything. Could cause some trouble with cheap thin jacketed cup and core bullets. Shouldn't cause any trouble with eel constructed hunting bullets.

Browning is now putting 8 twist on their 30 cals.

I went 8 twist, but I don't plan on shooting anything lighter than around 215.

Curious how the weatherby will do capacity wise. The 250's might be a bit heavy

The G7 BC are listed at 0.442, 0.412, and 0.355 for 250, 230 in 308 and 153 in 6.5.

They are packaged in the order in which they are made for added uniformity. They have a die insert to help seat them without damage to the bullet. These could be winners and I'd bet they'll perform on game.

I might need a 300 Lapua improved or 300 Norma AI.

Twist rates 8, 8.5, 9 for 153, 250, and 230 gn

I hope so too!

With that much bc the 6.5 Creedmoor would be a legit 2000y elk cartridge.

I know, that horse is dead. Couldn't resist.

THOUGHTS ON RIDING A DEAD HORSE*

Tribal wisdom derived from the Dakota Indians held that when you discover you are riding a dead horse, long-term planning suggests it is time to dismount. However, decades of study and contemplation regarding the situation has produced a much more modem, pluralistic and cost-based responsive set of guidelines for dealing with the "dead horse syndrome", including the following carefully developed strategies:

· Buy a stronger whip. Change riders.

· Threaten the horse with termination. Appoint a committee to study the horse...

· Arrange to visit other sites to see how they ride dead horses. Lower the standards so that dead horses can be included. Re-classify the dead horse as "living impaired."

· Hire outside contractors to ride the dead horse.

· Harness several dead horses together to increase their collective speed.

· Provide additional funding and/or training to increase the dead horses performance.

· Conduct a productivity study to see if lighter riders would improve the dead horse's performance.

· Declare that the dead horse carries lower overhead and therefore contributes more to the bottom line than some other horses. Rewrite the expected performance requirements for all horses, including dead horses.

· PROMOTE THE DEAD HORSE TO A MANAGEMENT POSITION WITH A DESK, COMPUTER, PRIVATE OFFICE AND ~ AN EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT!

David,

Cool, that's good to know, thanks! Might have to try it on my current .264 WM build with 27" 1:7" barrel for this season.

I will be keeping ears and eye open to see what can be found out. What we need is some hog hunters to try it on this summer. Would be a good critter to try it on I feel.

This is the only reason that I wish we had hogs here in MT. Bullet testing! We just need to make a trip to TX once a month for testing!

Silly question:

Could you shoot these new bullets in the .308 win?

How about the 6.5CM?

Or are these reserved for the magnum class of cartridges?
