Shv or vx5hd

Watched a Youatube video today on the Leupold and the guy going over the scope had 2 issues he mentioned. Not huge but does your guys windage know feel "squishy"? He could push his in a little and it'd pop back out. Seemed a little sloppy. And the O-ring on the same knob would squish out the side when it was tightened. Again not big issues but for an $1100-1200 scope you'd think it'd be tighter.
 
I purchased a Swarovski z5 5-25X52, Leupold VX-6 4-24X52 and Bushnell 6500 4 1/2-30X50. I also had a Leupold 4 1/2-14X50. All three of the first three were noticeably better than the latter. So if you want the best for light, get one of them. So far none of the other scopes in the same magnification range that I have purchased stay with these for low light. That includes Nikon Monarch 3 5-20X44, Zeiss HD5 Conquest 5-25X50, Minox ZX5 5-25x56 SF. The scopes that regularly beat these in low light are the Nightforce with 56mm objective.

This looks like a post I would make. Wait a minute. I did make a post like yours. The VX-5 3-15X56 beat the first three listed in low light test by six minutes on deer antlers 131 yards from the porch.
 
So tonight I looked through my 5.5-22x56 NXS for the first time in the evening to check the low light. Had the scope almost a year but haven't had the chance to sight it in unfortunately. Anyway looking through it I could easily make out a cabin and surrounding trees, structures, etc. and this was on the 5.5 power. If it wasn't for the snow on the roof I wouldn't be able to see it with my own eyes this late. This cabin sits on a point about 500-600 yards from my house. If I was an awesome shot taking one at a deer would be about feasible. But at 200 yards no problem. When I checked the time after looking it was 34 minutes past sunset. Knowing this now, how much better is the Leo around the same time of night?

It's been a few years since I compared the 5.5-22X with the z5. The Nightforce beat the Swarovski. When I can get Sue off the computer I will check my records. I can cross reference them with the VX-5 time since the Nightforce and the Swarovski are gone.
 
Well guys I called around and of course no one near me has the Leo in stock to look at. So I called a place I almost forgot about and he told me the price and I said order it! I'll go blind but with confidence thanks to everyone's inputs. And he was by far the cheapest. Cheaper than anything I've seen online as well. I hope I love this scope cause I'll probably get my 30-06 set up with the 44mm one.

Now I'm thinking a 56mm objective scope. With your guys experience would you go with the SHV 4-14x56 or LEO VX5HD 3-15x56? Dialing is somewhat important but good low light optics is what I'm more concerned about. Thanks.

I have 2 of the VX5-HD 3-15. Have not seen anything more clear or better light transmission.
 
I have been using the vx5 HD 3-15x44 and like it as well as any other scope I have. The reason I like it so well is the the parallax is so user friendly for my older eyes. Can focus the reticle and have it be completely stable at the clearest parallax setting. Most scopes won't allow me to do that. I need 2.25 readers (not while shooting) so i have to back out the eyepiece quite a ways to focus the reticle. That can make it difficult to dial-in a stable reticle/parallax adjustment while maintaining the best down-range focus. Very lightweight and great turret design to boot.
