How Many 6.5's Does One Man Need?

A buddy and I used 95gr Nosler BT...he had shot a 150lb WT at 300ish yards...6mm Remington, two times...in the crease at the of the back of the shoulder...impacts were 2" apart. Buck didn' even act like it was hit...started walking off then feel over. Recover both bullets against the hide on the exit side. Perfect mushrooms...

I let my mom use my 6mm AI 95gr NBT to shoot a buck one season. The shot was only about 75yds. She hit the buck in the meaty part of the shoulder, but hit no bones. The exit was just behind the shoulder. I am a better than average tracker...I tracked the deer by hoof prints for well over 200 yards and only found a tiny amount of blood...that confirmed I was on the right set of tracks. Found the deer the next day...well found most of it.

243 same bullet...well most were my daughter shooting doe and spikes. Most were bang flops around 75yds. With nice wound channels. Never tested it at longer ranges, but MV was a little behind the other 6mil's. So I doubt it would have faired better.

I tend to load near max most of the time, so I'm pretty sure I was pushing the had enough.

Just uno 6.5 CM. A Browning Xbolt Eclipse Hunter. It can put them all in 1 hole that is barely elongated @100, so I would say .1 MOA. Easily .2MOA regularly. No custom work on any part of it. 130 Berger VLDH. 2830fps Looking forward to Tx hog sometime soon.

You need all of them, but the 2 6.5x300wyb and 26 nosler
Unless you just want to shoot 600 rounds..lmao but true

The correct answer is 4. First you need a good gas gun for coyotes and pigs. Second you need a 12 pound 6.5 creedmoor for practice and competition. Third you need a lightweight 6.5 sherman or its equal. (A 6.5 x 284 or 6.5 prc or 6.5 wsm or 6.5 gap would do) I would pick the sherman because it just rolls off the tongue and sounds classy. Finally, you need a 6.5 x 300 weatherby. I'm not sure why but dang it I want one ;)

one man needs ALL of them! i only have 2 right now, both in the AR platform. a creedmoor and a grendel. i really like the grendel so far and plan to use it deer hunting this year as it weighs half of what my creedmoor does.

I have numerous examples in 6.5 Grendel, 6.5x55 and 264 Win mag. After getting a sale flyer from Bass Pro the other day and seeing they have both the Savage and Remington varmint rifles $100 off regular price and they come in 6.5 Creedmoor it could fling a craving on me.

You need exactly 7. Once you have 7 your good. Why? I have no idea but the #7 sounds good. Hmmmm, no I take the that back the #8 sounds better. 8 it is!!

LOL. After years of owning several different 6.5 cartridges, but, I now have boringly standardized on seven 6.5's. (hunting)3-6.5x284's; (competition) 3-6.5x47's, 1-6.5CM. You are right 8 sounds better!

5- AR-15's in 6.5 Grendel
1-DTech ar10 in .260 Rem
1-Tikka CTR IN .260 Rem
1-Custom Mauser 98 in .260 Rem

I think I'm covered in the 6.5 range.
Have no plans of getting a 6.5 Creedmoor. Its a thing I have going with my brother. He's a Creed and 6.8 guy.

I no longer concern myself with an exact number. I manage by percentages. 50% of the total I happen to have. It does drive up total number occasionally:)

In Addison to what I currently have I have a 264 WM on order.

And I can't seem to get the thought out of my mind that a longer range lever action would be a fun project.
