Do u prefer manners over McMillan?

Well after 3 manners and 2 mcmillans.... I wish I had 5 manners. But I think the edge goes to Mcmillan for lightweight, some of their stocks in edge fill are down right light.

I burn through a pile of stocks, 50+ a year. Quality wise Mcmillan wins easily. I also like dealing with them. As far as the end user is concerned, pick the design you like. I'll take an A3 over and Eh1 all day, but I prefer and EH3 to Mcm options in that class.

Have an A3 fiberglass and an EH1. The EH1 weighed 36oz with 1" recoil pad and the A3 weighs 42oz with 1/2" pad. I prefer the feel of the A3 over the manners, but the manners is lighter, but not really a fair comparison. As another said, I'm not going to turn you down if you wanted to give me either. My newest McM is a Sako Varmint pattern in EDGE. It is a very very nice stock and beats the other 2 for fit, finish and weight.

I honestly can't tell the difference in quality between the two. I think manners is a tad bit better looking overall, but McMillan is extremely comfortable. I wouldn't be upset if I was stuck with one or the other.

I don't burn through as many stocks as Alex but still get through a good number of mostly McMillian and Manners, McMillian stocks are better built with far better inletting, communication far superior, ordering experience far superior pricing is much better. I like Manners thumbhole design better but that is the only stock that I like of Manner as far as design than McMillan. The differences isn't like comparing to a Bell and Carlson, the differences are small but they all pile up to make the McMillan my stick of choice.

@bigngreen you are correct manners customer service sucks. I only called them once asking about a barrel channel in their stocks. I just got the automated run around. Press 1 for this press 2 for this...then when I got to the correct department no answer. It felt like I was calling the DMV. I couldn't imagine being a smith or distributor trying to call them.

I can't comment on manners inlet, but I can make a positive comment on mcmillans. I have an unbedded savage in an htg edge fill and it shoots lights out. I've printed sub 1/2" groups some nearing 1/4".

I've never owned or even handled a Manners. However I ordered a McMillan Gamescout last July. Was told lead time was 6 months. It was ready to ship in 4 months. Quality is excellent, all the contact I had with McMillan was positive. For the record this is my first aftermarket(custom) stock I've owned so take it for what it's worth.

Well in mcmillans defense savage has like 20 different action sizes and configurations all with the same name.
I can definitely see how that's frustrating though. I would be pretty annoyed.
Have contacted both in the last couple weeks and McMillan you usually get a voicemail that suggests you email. They did respond promptly to the email and actually sent me a return shipping label on a stock that wasn't quite right and shipped me the correct one immediately no questions asked. It was good service. Manners I kept getting the push 1 for sales, 2 for technical and then just a beep? That wouldn't fly in my office. Finally got a live person and sounded like maybe they were a bit overwhelmed They did attempt to answer my question. I own both and honestly splitting hairs for me.
