If you're only interested in obtaining muzzle velocity for aquiring ballistic charts, it's pretty hard to beat the magneto speed. The downside is having it barrel mounted can change POI and barrel harmonics with regards to group size. I have never used a Lab Radar unit, but it sounds like they are a great piece of equipment.

Yes i been researching some and looks like the lab radar is probably what iam going to get. Thanks for your responce

I Have a Labradar and will never look back. I too have heard of poor battery performance but I have not had that happen several shooting sessions on one set of batteries. Pay once Cry once

whats is the best all around user friendly chrono on the market?
Labradar hands down. It will work under any weather or lighting conditions something none of the others can do.

They are about double or more than the price of the other good units on the market but it's generations ahead of the other chrony's on the market.

I've been trying to get one bought for a couple of years and I think I may finally have the extra cash to get it done before the end of the year.

Len is, or was, and still might be running a pretty good sale on them so run over to the Long Range Hunting Store and give them a look.

I like mine , it seems to work well. I have not run mine on batteries, I bought the power pack. I kept reading they eat batteries up quickly .
I recommend the power pack. Mine consumed the 6AA alkaline batteries in short order today @ 30*F. The battery pack is Lithium, so it should also provide better power output in colder temps than alkaline batteries. After the AAs died, I connected the battery power pack and all was good.

Mine chewed thru the 6AAs so quickly I was wondering if an automotive battery could be used. o_O

I've been using a Labradar since April 2015. Fantastic product! Get the USB Power Bank as it will eat through 6 AA in a couple hours or less.
