Let's talk about 2 mile cartridges

Fred:

By space frame I'll assume you mean tube gun. I just looked at the XLR site and they do not have any Weatherby actions in their Inlet list.

A BR stock is no issue - you just order a flat top (no inlet more than possibly a barrel channel). Your smith takes it from there.

Going barrel block is also very doable, again starting with a flat top BR stock, since there are no "standards" for barrel blocks. I've never heard of or seen a barrel block in a tube gun style chassis.

Actually more interested in going down this route for the 375 and for my 50 DTC.

For a "conventional" action this is just drawings, setup and machine time.

For the 50 DTC an "AR" lower block will be inset into wood. I am anticipating making this from scratch. I have to do some engineering to determine how to make the wrist strong enough.

Based on the information provided by EHubel, I've drawn up what I think the 375 Warlord is.

Since the Warlord guy wants it in the public domain, if he is on here he can provide the corrections by I think it's close enough to do some internal ballistics work.

Yes that drawing is what the Warlord is and the guy in AK and I will have

completed, formed cases in a few weeks and reamers to use.

That way everyone can build guns and not have to have forming dies.

I'm really working to get these out, because I want to see whole bunch of guys

next summer at the two mile shoot and the other shoots in CA,

and other places with these cases.Ed

That is the purpose.

With the 200fps increase over my design and the 375 Mjolinr (sp?) I can use up to 370grain RockyMountain RBTAL or something similar Chinginga (sp?). Copper up to 350 instead of 330grains.

I want to know more about the 375 on the far right. Makes the 375 Cheytac look like a little b**ch. From what I was told it used the same bolt diameter as the cheytac and has a lot more capacity than the 375VM or VM2

I can't figure out the base case for the "CheyTac Long" unless someone had a run made of basic 505 Gibbs with a length of 4".

Swamplord said its just basic cheytac brass before its done being sized down. Could build a wicked .458-.510 based wildcat off of it.

That case on the right is same base case as my 585HE without a belt.

I had few of those cases, they started as long Gibbs/Cheytac basic cases, The ones I

had we made into belted 585, but the belt when we got it made was .634" or so and base was .614"

all .020 smaller than my belted one is now, and it gave us a case with not enough taper. on the sides.

Here is picture of our Alaska guys belted case, made from 585HE

next to Cheytac...Now the CA hotrod ELR shooters say that if no belt Cheytacs are

loaded real high, for competition speed they want pockets are loose in 2-3 firings.

Some of our belted ones on our 585 tests and Mitch's version have had six or

more and are still tight. One case in our 585 testing was fired a dozen

times and pocket still ok. And we haven't had a loose pocket yet..Ed

Ed: Will you be offering complete die sets? I don't recall you having a website. Might you post a list (including prices) of what will be available for all 586HE-based products? Thanks.

I sent a PM regarding some of that information.

He may have to wait for the AK guy go be available. Turns out summer is his busy work season and it's not over yet..
