Which rifle for a 17 HMR

I am looking for a bolt action 17 HMR and considering the Marlin 917 VS or the Savage 93. Looking for info on which model and configuration or any other info for other makes that would give good accuracy and dependability.

You will be fine with either one. I have a Savage 93 and couple friends have the Marlin 917 VS. Now another friend just bought the Savage with the thumb hole stock and it is very comfortable to shoot. With the Savage the trigger is much better, but you can adjust the Marlin with a spring mod. IMO they both shot equal. Either way you will have fun.

look into a CZ. I have had a Savage and a marlin and the CZ I bought last fall out shoots both of them.

get the savage 93, i have the 93 and a freind of mine has the marlin. the savage is much much better built.gun)

the savage is the way to go.i got one and love it.i can shoot dime size groups at 110yrds. i also look at the marlin but felt cheap compared to the savage.
