Whats the cartridge you LOVE to HATE?

This reminds me of a Dodge commercial from the late '60's or very early '70's! It went something like this!

To set the scene: the deep, throaty sound of a big block V-8 coming down from high rpm, while hearing the sound of tires under heavy braking on pavement…..a guy yells to his friend!

"How do ya like my new economy car?" The friends incredulous response….. "Economy car?" The car owners response, "Yeh…..saves on time!"

I'm not a MOPAR fan….but, always loved that commercial! 😁 memtb
I was a Mopar car guy from high school until 1980. I had 2 Dodge Chargers. One a 440 RT. A Plymouth Roadrunner, a Dodge Dart and my favorite a 340 Plymouth Duster. In 1980 bought a Ford F100 2WD. 1982 a Ford F150 4x4. 1999 a Ford F150 Lariot ext. cab 4x4. 2004 a Ford F250 Super Cab HD power stroke. Still have it . Over 220k mi.
I don't know why I told you all that...🙄 I think sometimes it's good to excersize my brain. 🤔

But look at it this way... they were wounded and not killed!!!

Sorry, for us here in Canada, the difference between a 22 pistol and a 454 Casull (was on my to buy list but oh well those days are gone now) is unfortunately nothing. Same paperwork required just to take it directly from home to the gun range and back by the most direct route. Stop anywhere and you can be charged by the police.

Neighbours always joke that if some broke into my place they were in trouble... I was like yeah... let me grab the keys to let's see which gun cabinet... ok that's a 300 win mag (only got 5 of those)... ok that ammo is on the 4 shelf. No that's 300 WBY... no that's 300 RUM... ok that's 300 WSM... ok that's 30-378... oh here it is... 300 WM. By this time they have loaded up the TV and everything of value. Of course... they wouldn't tale the wife's cooking!!

The problem is…..decent rock starting dying in the late '60's and ceased to exist in the early '70's! 😉 memtbome on man. The

We don't have kids!!! Wife says that I am worse than a 6 year old with toys and wanting more toys. Doesn't help that I am in the process of adding fuel injection and rebuilding the 340 in my 1973 Plymouth Cuda. Wife says most guys should be looking at porn on their phone... your either looking a guns (predominantly) and car parts!!!
I always wanted a 70-71 Hemi Cuda.

this thread needs less lovey dove reminiscing and more drama

The 45 acp is the only thing I can think of that's as garbage as a 270win so let's throw that out there too. I'm sure someone on here has one with a 45 inch barrel so they can act like they aren't just throwing a brick into pudding

Lots of entertainment value to be had here!
I have had a bunch of the calibers that some of you love to hate. I like to believe they all have a purpose. Even if it was to inspire someone to do it better.
That said i only have a couple of calibers that i find distasteful.
7.62x39.. Shot one that belonged to a friend in an AK. Not sure of the reason but after 5 rounds it gave me a raging headache and i haven't wanted anything to do with caliber or rifle.
I own a 300 Ultra Mag. I really want to like it but the recoil is enough to make me flinch after a few rounds. I find it a bit unpleasant compared to my 300 Win mag.
Install a muzzle brake if you don't have one. Big difference..

I have two 45's & 5 270's, & I'm loading for the 270's as I write ✍ the words I hope you choke on for dramatic effect 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 hows that???

Ok... I'm going to cause some schite here. The 308. My own limited experience was this year shooting a mule deer doe and the cartridge didn't let me down technically... poor shooting on my part wound up in me wounding the animal (but I got her). BUT... I see so many guys carry this cartridge for elk and moose. Which moose are big babies (kind of like my wife if she doesn't have chocolate in the house). Anyways... somehow there just doesn't seem to be the hitting or knock down power. Sure you can shoot it all day... but put an elk at 200 to 250 yards and you have to really think about whether you will pull the trigger or not. Now this is based on a friends dad whose been carrying a 308 for probably close to 50 years. Now on the flip side... his son who can target shoot SOMEHOW seems to always wind up wounding his elk with his 7 RM and 7 WSM and then i hotta go track the bloody thing... if I can. He wounded a moose with his 7 WSM and I had to track/push it for 2 miles till I was able to get it crossing a slough. Anyways... it's becoming my fun to shoot at the range guns (Win model 100 and HK 770) but not guns that I'm going to take hunting anymore. The HK wounded the doe and I used the 100 to go looking for it.
