What powder scope

To a great extent, the choice depends upon your hunting style and the compromises you are willing to make. For an all purpose rifle, you choice would allow you the freedom to use the rifle in the woods with ease because of the larger field of view at the lower setting. 14 X is adequate for long range hunting depending upon exactly how far that but for the ranges of a 7 Rem mag will kill big game is would be acceptable.

For a dedicated long range rifle which will never be taken into the woods I would prefer more magnification and am most comfortable at about 22 X while other people want even more or even less.

Adjustable parallax is important for the longer range shooting so money spent for that is money well spent

In the choices of long range scopes, you must be aware of the amount of vertical adjustment that the scope has and what your needs will be. Canted bases and/or Burris Signature rings with canted inserts will help you make the most of limited amounts of vertical adjustment.

The larger the objective the more light you will concentrate and the better you will be able to see early and late in the day. The trade off is scope height which screws up your stock weld.
