What barrel length and contour?

I'm getting ready to re barrel my Rem. 700. I am thinking of keeping it a 7mm Rem. mag and have access to a Sendero taper 9 tw. fluted Broughton that can finish up to 28". I'm not really too concerned with weight. Is that an adequate taper for that length? What seems to be the go to contour and length for a 7mag?

Thats the perfect combo right there. I love the sendero contour personally.
I went a lilja #8 on my last build and I don't like it.

The sendero it a nice compromise between having a heavy/accurate barrel that wont heat up too quick vs having a gun that is very barrel heavy like my #8

I just put a 22-250 Ackley together with a 28" Shilen sendero contour and it feels very nice.

I also just ordered a 30" Brux barrel in the same contour as well. I had this one fluted though.

You will be happy with your choice.

Sounds like a great choice to me go with it. Length is up to you 26" min but why not 28" I would
