WC860 & WC872

Does anyone have good luck with these slow burners? Looking to load 7mm STW and 7mm RUM.

I've burned a fair amount of wc 872... around a keg so far. I use it with a 130 blem bullet in my 270 win. in a heavily compressed load or a 7rem pushing 175 Hornady pills full throttle with a rather heavy charge. It works in a 7stw with heavies too, but my current 7stw likes 140's better. wc 872 is VERY similar to aa8700... You can use that data less 10% to start and walk it in. You will probably end up between 85 and 87 grains on a 175 in a 7stw. 93 grains give or take on a 140. 87 on a 180 was hot in my current rifle; I will play around more later but it shoots well with 140's so I've taken my time.

I'm running 3350 with rl25 and 140 ab's...
I've seen more with 8700 and 140 Sierra pills, but that was another 7stw and a bit of an overload to see how fast we could go. I would get to 3300-3400 fps and call it a day. By 3500 fps you are most likely over pressure.

not in this barrel. I have 2 different lots of 872 also. 1 is slightly slower and a bit bulkier than the other. This is not canister powder. You have to find like burn rate powder and do your own run up with your gear.

I use wc844 and wc846 a lot.
My brother uses a bunch of the 872 & 860 in his BMG50.
I have 175g partitions and if 872 or 860 works good I will look for some. But I want to hear from you guys first

I would assume that that would be correct, I don't know about the 872 & 860 but with 844 & 846 I get my very best loads at the top end of pressure and it burns clean there.
