Vx3i 8.5 x25x50 or vx5hd 5x15x44 On a 110 savage ultra lite in 28 nosler

I'm new to this forum.
This is my first attempt to get opinions.
I recently purched a 110 Savage altra lite in 28 nosler.
I also recently had a 6.5 prc custom made from my nephew. Both have proof barrels.
I have 3 leupold scopes to choose from.
a vx3i 8.5 x25 x 50 a vx3i 6.5 x 20x 50 a vx5, 5x15 x44 .
I currently have the vx3i 6.5x20x50 on the 6.5 prc. This combo seems to be ideal.
My 1st. question is what makes more sence
For the 28 nosler. 6.5 x 20x50 or 8.5x25x50
My second question is would the vx5, 5x15x44 be enough for the 6.5 prc. If I'm shoting out to 700 yds.
I mainly hunt Mully, White tail and Elk in Montana. (Lots of very long shots from 800 to a 1000 yds).That's the purpose of the 28 nosler.
I hunt Mullies in N.Cal.
I'm just looking for opinions.

Yes, but it depends highly on your vision, i.e., my son shot at a 966Y target at 6X and I at 12X.

Agree with Feenix on the 6.5x20x50. Don't handicap yourself on such a flat shooting caliber. Not super well versed on glass, but the 44mm objective will be somewhat limiting in the first and last few minutes of light. not a lot, but noticeable.

Also, if the scopes are mounted on pic rails, it is easy to swap them out to see what works best for your eyes, hunting style, and situations/purposes/conditions.

Nice glass to choose from. enjoy the process.

I get some negative opions on the 8.5x25.
I guess the challange is do i purchase another scope for the 28. Or go with the 8.5x25

You should have no problem with the 5x15 on there. I hunted this for years and years.But I also hunted a 6-20x50.But I had many walks up thick stuff in timber and the 6.5 is a bit high, lost of times you have mirage or fogged in and can't use higher power, also harder to get a follow up.But if you are more of a east side open country I would go with the 20x.

I have a VX5 3-15x44 on a 7mm-08 and love it, to me the lower 3x power would be more valuable than the upper 15-20x range for hunting. The 50mm objective would be great, but not at the cost of the lower magnification for hunting.

I have 3 of the Leupold VX5HD 3-15x44 scopes on a 300 PRC, 25-06, and 6.5 PRC. I belong to a 1000+ yard rifle club, and routinely hit 10"-12" steel plates at 1050 yards with this optic. 15X is plenty of magnification for shots out to this range, and the 3X is great for close quarters work. I have had nothing but great luck with dialing these scopes at varying ranges and ringing steel (and harvesting elk, mule deer, and antelope) in Colorado. I avoid scopes with a low range magnification of greater than 4X as it restricts field of view on shots in the timber. My favorite Leupold reticle on the VX5HD is the windplex, and actually prefer it over the firedot duplex (2 of my 3 have the firedot). I also have a 28 Nosler but have a Swaro Z3 4-12 on that gun for its lighter weight and ballistic reticle. VX3's are nice, lightweight scopes but I would recommend staying below the 4.5x for western hunting.
