Vortex Viper PST Gen II 5-25x50mm adequate to 1K

I just bought a Browning X-Bolt Max LR in.300 Win Mag, and now need to put a scope on it.
Is a Vortex Viper PST Gen II 5-25x50mm adequate out to 1,000 yards. I currently have access to a 500 yard range, but may wish to find a place to shoot 1K.
Also, some day I hope to realize my dream of going elk hunting in Northern Arizona.
