My favorite rifle isn't exactly a true LR rifle.

I designed it for hunting coyotes.

Web%2017%20front.jpg

It's a 17 Remington with a 27" Heavy Varmint Lilja barrel on M700 action, sitting in a McMillan stock. It shoots a 25 grain Berger Match bullet 4305 fps. I aim dead on out to 250 yards.

The coyotes are recovered at the point of impact.

Hey Chris,

I admire your Tomahawk rifle.
Could you tell me the diameter of this Hart barrel? (front and end)
It will be my backup rifle without a barrel block. Do you put bedding under the barrel about 3 inch from the action?
Estimate weigh of the rifle alone (without scope)?
Thanks.
I'm saving $$$ for 338 Tomahawk with 40" barrel and 9" barrel block on McMillan 50cal stock.

-Denny

Denny--
The Hart barrel is 1.250" for 4" and then tapers to .950" at 30". I do bed the first 3-4" of the barrel shank when I use a barrel this heavy. It seem to help dampen harmonics and cause less stress on the action. Thanks for the compliment, I am proud of the way it turned out... CJ
Here are a couple more ..
1661055.jpg

This one is similar to the 6.5-284. It is a .22-250 .253 nk, M700 with a 28" Pac-Nor NBRSA HV taper barrel, Shrewd Precision brake, Jewell trigger and Shehane stock. It now wears a Leupold 4.5-14x50 LRT in Warne rings and NF bases.

1714807.jpg

This is a .243 AI with a 24" Pac-Nor #5 tube on a M700 action. It sits in a HS precision Pro Series sporter stock and wears a 4.5-14x50 Leupold Tactical.
