I have shot a bunch of coyotes over the years, but can only think of one or two where the bullet was recovered from a centerfire rifle. That was until last week when I went hunting with my buddy, Ben. He was using a .308 and I was using a 6.5 Grendel. We were after hogs, but never got close enough for a shot on one, but we managed to call in a coyote. As it turned out, our shot on the coyote was nearly perfectly straight on and while both bullets penetrated well, both were recovered. Well, Ben's bullet was recovered and a whole bunch of fragments from my bullet were recovered, and there was not observed exit anywhere. I have never seen a coyote retain two centerfire rifle rounds before. Pretty neat...
