We were wondering how light we could get an E-Tac stock which was a great excuse for a new rifle.
I preferred that my son Peter do the lay up on his own, as he is a perfectionist and better than myself in light weight lay up. Total weight of the all carbon E-Tac stock including the adjustable cheek and recoil pad is 828 grams (29.25 OZ).
Dominic Byrne of Dom's Custom Rifles in Ireland fitted a medium Palma Bartlein barrel. We left the barrel at 24" but might chop to 20" when the deer season starts. Action is standard remmy only lugs lapped, Barrel action is Ceracoated. Bolt Knob is in solid carbon fibre made by us. Colour is our new "Irish Mix".
First 5 shot group was with 168 A-max, just under 1/4".
Total weight with a 10 shot mag, 24" med Palma, and Kahles 624i fitted is 11.2lbs
Total weight with a 5 shot mag, 20" med Palma, and Zeiss Conquest 6.5-20x50 will be 9.2lbs.
