I am trying to figure out what twist for a 300 rum and 190-210 bulltets. I see that berger recommends 1:11 or faster for there 210s, I cant find what nosler says for there 210 lr accubond. Just run the 1:10 and go, or slow it down??

I wouldn't want anything slower than a 10". The last 30 cal barrel I bought was a 9.5". If I could do it over I would order a 9".

A 1 in 10 will work perfect on 190 to 210 grain bullets in the 300 rum. if you were going to shoot only 220 to 240grain bullets then a 1 in 9 might work better.

bullets in the 180 to 200 range seem to work best in the 300 RUM with the 1 in 10 twist.

OK I wasn't sure because my 300 win mag doesnt like the 200 plus bullets and thats a 10 twist , didn't know if they were going to act diffrent

+1 couldn't say it any better

I use 225 hdy hpbt at 3,000 fps in my 10" twist lh bdl and they shoot very accurately.... I sometimes wonder if I'm not right on the edge though and don't plan to push my luck with 240's unless I speed up the twist with a new bbl. at 9" twist.

Has anyone played with a progressive twist barrel, say start at 11 the breach and 9 at the muzzle.

my brother's 460 smith pistol has a progressive twist, but that's the only progressive twist I know of in current production...

It would be interesting to try for the thinner jacket bullets but who makes them??
