So got a like new CTR T3X in 6.5 Creed and I am going to make it a project gun. Planning on getting a Prefit barrel from bugholes with his bugnut setup in 22 Creedmoor. For those of you that have messed with removing factory Tikka barrels are they pretty stubborn to get off? And also would a rear entry action wrench be best or regular external action wrench? Any help would be appreciated as I need to order a action wrench rather soon. Thank you in advance.

Funny...just mentioned Tikka's in the thread on barrel vises and saw this one.

"Stubborn", would be an understatement. Had a T3 come in some time ago, had to machine/bore a custom bushing to match the steep contour of the shank (.300 WM). Took hours of work to get the biatch off.

Since you don't care to save the barrel, take it to a local smith. A relief cut ahead of the receiver face will make short work of it and it'll spin right off. Don't even think about using a rear entry wrench- you'll twist the action. They're only for barrels that have been removed/reinstalled, never for removing a factory barrel.
