The .257 -WHICH CARTRIDGE???

While it would be a sweet rifle, I personally don't feel the 25GT would have enough HP to make a medium/longer range hunting rifle.

I have a 22GT and love it for varmints. I have loaded for a 6GT too, and a 108-115 really takes it's toll on velocity. I think a 133-135 would really slow it down too much for my tastes for hunting out west. But for areas where hunting shots are 600-700 max, it might be a viable option. The extra 200fps from a 25CM would really help though.

Great advise! Speed kills.....no speed equals runner, nippers, and lost dogs....

Id have to guess the SST, for efficiency.
Ive put 500 or so rounds through the Long Action.
None through the others, yet, Coming soon.

long action 71 grs
Max 76grs
hoping to FF some SST very soon, for data.

Mr Rich can add plenty to help with our curiosity, surely.

The SST is the most efficient and runs perfectly as a true short action. capacity is about 70 grs.
The Sherman should be between 73-76 grains depending on brass.Petersen is thick!

I have shot. 25 Souper, .257 DGR, 25-06, 25 Creedmoor and 25 SAUM.

I currently shoot 25-284 throated for the 134gr ELD-M. 55.7gr RL-26 @ 3104.. SD- 1.4 ES- 3.

24" Brux #3 contour, 1-7 twist. With this combo 1 still have 1800 fps and 1000 ft lbs of energy at 950 yards.

25 Creedmoor just didn't get me to where I wanted to be velocity wise. 25 SAUM was over the top. Almost 10 more grains of powder to hit 3300 and that was way top end and needed backed off for a stable load that wouldn't destroy brass.

25-284
