Looking to self-guide. Nothing too outrageous. Maybe a weekend. Have applied for draw hints but no luck.

what are the options for texas residents? Rifle.

any websites with tips and info? Need to get out this season as our leases got sold out.

Any advice?

Public land? TX? 🤣. Seriously though. There is some out west. Davis Mountains area. But you are advised to understand that TX is 90% private land. You wanna hunt? Do your due diligence because sellers lie about wildlife resource populations. Oh…be prepared to pay.

Lake Meredith is your only option for walk in mule deer. There's the Crossbar BLM on the Canadian river but it's archery only and you have to reserve a spot. Plenty of deer at Meredith, just don't expect a trophy. Especially during rifle season.
