Greyfox: What's up - did this not work out as planned?
Been king of waiting to hear your opinion of this unit versus the magneto speed.

Yes, I posted results on thread, "Re: *new* magnetospeed v2 chronographs". Here is a copy:

Just got a Magetospeed, and have been using it with my 300 WM with a Elk Meadow Performance brake on it. I own an Oehler 35, Chrony, Pro Chrono, and a Superchrono Acoustic. Probably due to my heavy barrel, my POI at 200 yards was unchanged with the unit attached. This was an initial concern. In terms of set up, ease of use, the ability to use it in any lighting conditions, in my view it is far superior to all the others I own. I did compare the Superchrono but didn't use the two in tandem. i tested with a batch of my primary load that is well tested. My computed drop data indicates a velocity of 2890 FPS. My other chronographs usually read 50-75FPS low, depending on lighting conditions. My load is 79gr of Retumbo, 210 Berger Hunting VLD seat .010 off lands, Norma brass, Fed215 primers. 24" barrel.

Magnetospeed: 2901,2908,2908,2903,2900, Avg 2904, SD 3

Superchrono: 2880,2877,2898,2867,2857, Avg 2876, SD 14

Both are within 15 FPS of my drop data velocity. The Superchrono, while set up
sounds easy, has to be aligned perfectly, and a certain distance and height to get reliable readings. It can take as long as setting up a conventional chronograph. I just strapped the Magnetspeed on the barrel and plugged the cord in. The computer on the unit is very user friendly. It's also about a hundred dollars cheaper and available in the USA. Great technology!!!!
