Contemplating purchasing an AG Composites stock. One thing they offer is a textured grip and/ or forearm. Will be for a 308 hunting rifle. Likely the Alpine hunter stock.

Any experience? Is it worth the extra money? Any cons to it?

Thanks for the feedback in advance.

I doubt there are any cons to it other than if you personally don't like the texture. So I guess there could be cons hahah. I don't have textures on my AGs and never wished I did but that doesn't mean you feel like I do.

I'd think it'd still be consistent riding the bag.
I wouldn't worry about it. But then again I don't ride the bags much. Mostly bipod, tripod, & field positions. Texture grip is a plus there.

Might consider the MCS PH. I like mine waaay better than the Alpine I had. I have another PH
on order. My favorite so far. đź‘Ť

Get the texture! If you hunt in cold weather holding on to a slick rifle stock with gloves is a PITA!

My Remington Ultimate MZ laminate is so slick I had to put a thin strip safety-walk slip resistant tape around the grip and one narrow strip on each side of the fore end just so I could hang on to it with gloves!
