Starting to Plan My First Custom Rifle

I had the itch too. So here's what I've accumulated and weighed thus far. Could be an ounce or two either way .........it took awhile to research, decide and find the components.

Caliber - 7 Rem Mag
Action - Defiance AnTi = 22 oz
Barrel- #4 Bartlein Carbon Sendero lite 24" = 48 oz (finished weight)
Bottom metal - Hawkins = 3 oz
Trigger - Trigger Tech Diamond = 2 oz
Stock - AG Composite Visigoth = 30 oz
Ti Brake - 2.5 oz
Rings - Hawkins Hybrid = 2 oz
Scope - NXS or Mark 5HD = 30 oz

Weight - 139.5 ounces = 8.718 pounds
I'm curious on your weights; for action, barrel, and trigger my math says you are at 22+48+2 oz, or... 72 oz. I have a 26 inch Christensen Ridgeline 300wm barreled action (steel not ti) on my scale that is 69oz (not including bottom metal, action screws, or muzzle brake). I would have thought your defiance AnTi build would have been lighter weight by comparison??? What am I missing?

The only thing I don't have an "actual weight" is the scope and the rifle stock. These items are "advertised only" weights.

Correct......the barrel might have been 2lbs 14ish ounces if that helps. Barrel threaded 5/8-24

Ok, thanks for the info. The christensen barrels must be a lot lighter than I thought. I bet their titanium model knocks another 6-8 ounces off even. FYI, I just weighed the barreled action of my Savage 110 Ultralight 28 Nosler, with 24 inch proof research carbon barrel... 71.8 oz (no muzzle brake or mag or bottom metal)

I believe Bartlein Carbon barrels have a thicker/heavier rifled sleeve. At least that's what I've heard.
Well, I don't think they are alone, the proof prefits are advertised at around 46-48 oz as well if I'm not mistaken. I'm just not getting how CA is getting their weight so low on a 26 inch barreled action. It's a lot thicker barrel profile than the proof on my savage.

I just ordered a Proof Carbon Sendero 24" 7mm today from JA Outdoors this morning. The blank supposedly weighs 49 oz. The finish weight after chambering, etc. should be a few s ounces less. The Bartlein is heavier by a few ounces based on what the GS stated. My target weight all in and ready to hunt is 8.5 lbs. In the end I'll be close I believe. The scope weight will come in around 21 oz.
